Chapter 5

"Ok,"Annabeth said once everyone but Percy and I were sorted into attack and defence "Meg your attack and Percy your defence."
"What?!" We exclaimed in unison.
"Sorry, but I gotta be with him." I said.
"Well, I ain't gonna change anything so deal with it. Ok?"
She turned to face everyone.
"OK,GET READY EVERYONE!"
A horn blew and the other attacks ran into the woods. I looked at Percy's green eyes fearfully and he nodded. At that I ran into the woods. After running for a while, I heard a twig snap. Thwang. An arrow had been shot. I turned on my heel and deflected the arrow. Then turned and started running in a zigzag motion, so I didn't get hit. I jumped over a creek. The creek was quite big, but this bit was shmall.
"In enemy territory now." Was the only thought I had that included the game.
The forest 'ended' and I'm out in the open. A girl was running to the flag. A child of Athena. She was the only person running, like there was no sort of distractions or help. Snap. The person was back. I turned around as they came out of the forest. One of the people who hadn't been claimed yet(they had gotten split into the different teams) Rosie I think was her name. I picked up a rock and threw it at her. It hit her in the stomach and she doubled over. I turned around and saw that she had the flag, with one person chasing her. I don't know where the other defenders went, but anyway.
"HEY YOU!" I screamed at the guy chasing her. Ares kid. He turned and looked at me.
"YES YOU,YUH STINKEN BOOGER HEAD!"
He yelled as he ran at me. I did not think that through. He was soon upon me, trying to cleave me in two. He did an overhead strike, and I met his sword with mine. And in the name of Zeus was his sword heavy,like I've bet him in an arm wrestle and it was easy. Anyway, I had to jump out of the way so I didn't die, and I drove the pommel of my sword into his head. He staggered, but quickly regained himself.
"Is that the best you've got?!" I asked him.
Probably wasn't the right thing to say. He screamed in fury and ran at me, his sword aimed at my stomach. I got my sword in position and redirected his sword. But he barrelled into me, making us 'throw' our swords away. He was on top of me and raining blow after blow at my face. Most of them I blocked, but like maybe 3 hit me, and those things hurt. Then I realised I was being pathetic. I grabbed his fist and twisted it. He screamed in pain. I kneed him in the back, and he grabbed my leg.
"Oh no," I thought as his hand got free and punched me in the stomach.
I winced and I swung my leg around, throwing him off me.
"AAHHHHHHHH!"
"PERCY!"
I was furious. Percy needed help, and I was lying on the ground like an idiot. I pushed myself off the ground and sprinted to where the sound came. I made it to the creek to see a circle of campers. In the centre was a huge hellhound on top of my brother.
"He needs help, and no-one's helping." I thought.
I was still furious about being pathetic, and this just made it worse. I ran forward, sword in hand, ready to kill this beast. It shall be named,ummm,Dino(d-ee-n-oh). I lunged at Dino and stabbed it in the back. Good news, Dino's off Percy, bad news, my sword is lodged inside Dino, and I'm holding on for dear life. My sword dislodged and I screamed as I was flung into a tree. Oh don't forget,no-one was helping me. My sword leaves my hand as I make contact with the tree, and I fell to the floor. Dino growled as I grabbed my sword,stood up, dazed,wheezing and winded. As Dino started to change at me, I worked out a plan. And in no time at all, Dino was directly in front of me. They had their claws outstretched,ready to tear me apart. I simply sidestepped and drove the pommel of my sword into its head. Dino staggered away, giving me time to get into position. When dino had regained themself, they charged. Just like my plan was thought out, I used the tree as a booster when I jumped, landing on Dino's back. I hooked my legs around its neck and stabbed Dino's head. Dino didn't even get time to react before they crumbled to dust. I sprinted over to Percy, whose face, arms,legs and stomach hade been scratched, and were bleeding.
"Oh gods Percy, are you ok?" I asked him, quite fast
He just smiled at me. A tear ran down my cheek, I didn't want to lose him.
"Get. Him. In. The. Water. Now." Annabeth said through gritted teeth, she kinda looked like she was about to cry.
"Why?"
"JUST PUT HIM IN THE WATER! RIGHT NOW,OR I WILL-"
"Ok, ok jeez!" I cut in, worried about what she was threatening. I grabbed Percy's wrist and dragged him over to the water and 'threw' him in. He started to heal almost immediately. About 50 seconds later, he was fully healed.
"Woah, Percy, you good?" I asked him.
"Great." He laughed a bit as he said that.
Everyone gasped, even us, because a sea green trident had appeared above our heads. That's when Chiron galloped over.
"Is everyone alright? I heard screaming." He then saw the fading tridents, "come with me."

We stopped outside the Hermes cabin.
"Children, grab your stuff, but leave the things that were supplied to you." Chiron said to us.
We went inside, grabbed our stuff then exited. We walked to cabin 3 in complete and utter silence.
"Children, this is your new cabin." Chiron said to us as he walked towards the door.
He turned to look at us.
"These are from your father." He said holding out a pen and a pencil.
"Umm, one thing, those are writing utensils, and secondly, who's our father?" Percy asked.
"Your father is Poseidon." He said, handing Percy the pen, and me the pencil, "and these are the weapons he has given you two."
We took them.
"This is a. . . Pen." Percy said.
"Now see, that's where you're wrong, my boy, this is riptide. And that child, is a very effective weapon."
"It's a pen" Percy replied sassily(PERSASSY! OMG!!)
"Uncap your pen Percy." Chiron said calmly.
So he did, and it turned into a bronze sword.
"Meg, spin your pencil."
So I did, and it turned into a metre long bronze sword, and the weight was perfect and the sword fit perfectly in my hand.
"Woah!" I exclaimed
"And that's whirlpool. Those swords are celestrial bronze, and are harmful to all monsters and demigods. It cannot harm humans though." Chiron said to us, "and they will return in your pocket if lost."
"Cool!" Percy exclaimed.
He then showed us inside the cabin, he couldn't enter, though. The thing was spacious. It's actually where we're filming this, anyway, the story.
"This is sooo big, we could have a duel in here!" I happily exclaimed.
"Oh before I leave, Meg you've got archery tomorrow morning, and Percy, you've got running." Chiron said before he turned and left.
"I dibs top bunk!!" Percy yelled as soon as Chiron had shut the door.
He threw his stuff onto the nearest bed and climbed the ladder. I then did the same. At the top I sighed with glee and tiredness.

Ok so, like I said, gore warning, and also got pretty interesting. Well at least I think it did. Also this isn't about the story, but, I add this into the amount of words in the chapter,as well as the amount of words. Oh and school holidays is coming up, so I'll be posting more hopefully.
