Rather than helping with Mak's car, Kyo had been at Jailbreak's clinic. She'd ditched the two piece outfit for a one piece body, similar to a leotard, and a black and purple puff hoodie. Sensibly, she'd removed it so Jailbreak could do some fine tuning to her synaptic link.
"Holding up there?" Jailbreak inquired after a few minutes.
"Fucking hurts." Kyo huffed, "Still not as bad as getting it in there, but still."
"Yeah, that's the crux of having shit wired straight into ya spine, maintenance and upgrades hurt like a bitch beating from hell."
"I now know that..."
"So how's life with Ricochet's crew? Saw ya roll up on my outdoor cams on that fancy pair of wheels."
"Oh yeah, that... Funny thing; before our falling out, my mum would have killed me for buying a Phantomina."
"It's quite the bike, I'll say that much. I guess this fine tuning's so you've got better control of it at speed, right?"
"And against bullets. One bounced off my bodyplate on my first job. Thank god I thought aerospace grade titanium was a good idea, didn't even know it had happened until I saw the scratch a day later."
"True." Jailbreak remarked as she finished up the tuning, "Right... That should improve your reflexes a bit, and I added a little extra."
"Extra?"
"I just finished some Overclock Circuit mods, figured you'd like one."
"What exactly does an Overclock Circuit do?"
"You know the snapper accelerates your reflexes, right?"
"Right."
"Well, the Overclock Circuit allows for a supercharge. It'll feel like your brain's running at Mach nine."
"You're shitting me!"
"Nope, customers I've done it for say they experienced time at around twenty-five percent average perception, that might be... disorientating at first, but you'll have reaction times like you won't believe."
"I guess that's something." Kyo sighed as she got up and put her hoodie back on, "Thanks for the tune up, Jail."
"No problem." Jailbreak iterated, "But hey, if ya popping to Mak's garage, could a take this?" she inquired, handing Kyo a package.
"What's this?"
"It's for Jasper, mods for her arms." Jailbreak explained, "She meant to pick it up days ago but she never got around to it."
"I'll make sure it gets to her." Kyo confirmed, "I better get going if it's going to be there before it gets late."
"Appreciate it, thank you." Jailbreak replied as Kyo turned and walked out. As she got onto her new bike, she received a text from Jailbreak.
One more thing; just because your body can move faster doesn't mean it's invincible, so be careful when you overclock, K?
Good to know, thanks for the heads up.

As part of her daily routine, Kat was on her way to Axia's office with vehicle maintenance reports from the motor pool. She just so happened to catch one alongside Chelsea.
"Morning, Kat." said Chelsea, "Going up?"
"Axia's office." Kat replied, "Got the Motor pool reports."
"Alrighty...."
"You alright? You seem tense."
"I have been watching my back a bit lately." Chelsea admitted as she hit the button.
