Athena's pov
Today, it is Sunday. The big game with Inter has come and I am so afraid. Back in Greece the championship was way more easy; we were always winning the cup but now everything is different. It feels like I am playing my debut for Serie A.
A call, however, interrupts my thoughts. I pick my phone up, answer and then I hear Aurora's voice."How are you feeling? First official game with us!"
"I am kinda nervous Rora. I'm going to mess everything up, I swear."
"Of course you're not. Do you want to grab a cup of coffee and then go to the pitch together? We still have two hours ahead of us."
"Sure, I'd love to. I'm gonna pick you up."
Since the summer was gone for good, I chose to wear a white hoodie and some grey tracksuits. I brushed a little bit my dark hair and then I packed my things up for the match. I went downstairs, said goodbye to my parents and immediately left for Aurora's house, which was nearby.
I rang the bell and waited outside for my friend. And then, instead of her, a man appeared; he was 19 or 20 years old and bulky. He had dark blonde fluffy hair, blue eyes and he was tall. I stared at him because I didn't know who he was and he seemed kind of dangerous. Then I saw Aurora and relaxed.
"Oh I see you met my brother. Athena this is Marco. Marco this is my friend from practice, Athena."
"Nice to meet you."
"Same."
"Let's go."
"...Yes! Bye bro!"
"Don't mind him; he is a little bit weird I know. He is just being like that after we lost our dad."
"Oh. I am so sorry for that."
"No it's okay." She smiled
I do not acknowledge how life is without having a parent. But my relationship with my parents is really typical. I tell them my news, how life is going and basic stuff but never something more than that. My mom sometimes can be sweet and say how happy she is for my accomplishments but that's it. My dad never cared about me so he doesn't even do that. And when he talks about me he says horrible things.
Back in middle school, when he was drunk, he threatened me to hit me and to do horrible things to me if I didn't stop talking. I never said anything to anyone; my father himself doesn't seem to remember what he said back then. It's better that way.
I wake up from my thoughts when Aurora opened a conversation about the boy's team that played a match today too; against Roma, though.
She watches her phone and says:
"Juventus U19 men's team wins 2-0 and leaves Rome with 3 points. Scorer of both goals is the ascending talent Kenan Yıldız, who is promoted to Juventus Next Gen and will be part of its team next month."
See then looks at me.
"Wow. He is a talent. Nicolò has invited me to watch many of their matches and he is indeed something also. I think he plays for the Turkish National Team too."
We then arrived at the coffee shop, but before we stepped in to order, I looked at her and sighed.
"He might be a talent. But he thinks that I am a garbage. From the moment that I bumped into him by a mistake till the moment he got my things and ran away. He doesn't have manners, first of all and the guy is so messed up. I don't understand why everyone applauds him and respects him. He is not even that special!"
And then I go in to take our coffees and proceed to pay.
"Thanks."
"You're welcome."
I go out and hand her the coffee.
"I think you kinda hate the guy but he doesn't deserve that. He probably acts around you like that because you are Greek. I heard from someone that something had happened in the past with some Greek guys while playing football with his national team.."
"..He was always polite with everyone and a smile is constantly spread across his face. He seems like a happy person. If you learn him better you'll see, trust me."
"I don't know. They'll assume that I like him just like they do for other girls who are around him. And I don't want that. Because as you said, I don't like the guy at all. You know what the Turkish people have done to our ancestors in Smyrna? (Greek trans.: Izmir, city in Turkey) They are awful people."
We were now close to our team's pitch.
"I think you are wrong here. I know that history is important for you but now this is over. Some people might be awful; but they leave among us. Not only in Turkey; but also in Greece, Italy... all around the world. You need to understand that it's not a Turkish child's fault that his ancestors killed your people. And I know that no one forgets; no one will forget what happened between Turkey and Greece. But people nowadays try to live like normal ones and have normal relationships with each other. Please don't choose your friends or partners in life out of history. It is just wrong. Think about it."
"Maybe you are indeed right. But history is embedded in my blood. I do not know what to think. Anyways, let's go win this game. Shall we?" I smile.
"Oh yes girl! Let's gooo!"
We went to play and we got outside of the field as winners. What a day.

We wanted to celebrate outside with all the girls from my team and thus, we decided to attend the same party as the men's U19 team.
I had put on a black dress, not revealing much, which embraced my curves. I also did a little bit fast my makeup but in the end it was cool as hell.
Me and Lea got a drink from the bar and then went to dance with the other girls. When the DJ played the Stereo Love we started dancing like there was no tomorrow; it finally felt like I was free. I cared about nothing that specific moment except from the beat that was reaching my heart from far away. I was literally synchronised with the rythme; everything seemed so calm. The multicoloured lights were falling on my body and I was enjoying every moment of it.
I closed my eyes for a second.
And then I hit someone with my back.
"Watch it." I hear a familiar voice behind me.
I turn around and I see Yıldız.
He is wearing a simple black t-shirt and blue baggy jeans. He seems so basic but at the same time he looks so handsome. Recently he had a new haircut and got rid of his small ponytail. To be honest, he looks even better now.I observe him more than I want to. His eyes are dark green and they burn my grey ones. His nose is nice too and suits his face. His lips are interesting to explore. He looks fine.
He is taller than me and I look petite beside him. He has broad shoulders and nice hands. He is attractive.
He cleans his throat.
Now I understand that I have been staring for at least one minute."Ehhh what?"
"I said watch it. You bumped into me again."
"Why are you so mean?"
"Me or you?"
"You of course! What have I ever done to you? At least let me dance while the DJ plays one of my favourite songs."
He looks at me and he burns my soul. His face is steady and serious. But he doesn't bother to answer me. He just leaves.
I really need to stop thinking about his attractiveness and just avoid him for a lifetime.
