Kenan's pov

Athena.
This is her name.

I bumped into her in purpose yesterday. And that is because I caught her looking at us while training. And especially, she had her eyes on Nicolò. The guy is good-looking but I am better than him.

Now that I see her infront of me, I cannot describe how beautiful she looks. Her dark blue dress embracing her body in a soft way and the ponytail reveals her chisseled and pretty face. She looks around 17 or 18 and she is kind of petite; not that much though. She has dark brown hair and the colour of her eyes is a mesmerising shade of grey. And the most important of all; she plays football. She might be snob on the outside but I bet she is so sweet on the inside.

I think I am looking way too much. Fortunately Nicolò starts talking.

"Well Kenan, Athena is Greek and you are Turkish. Don't make this awkward because of history rivalries."

Greek? I should have thought of that earlier. Her name in ancient greek means Athens. However, our history with Greece is bad and our countries are in big rivalry. Even the locals are disagreeing with each other. If my father knew, he would have killed me that I was talking to a Greek person. And I kinda hate them too.

When I was 15 I played with Turkey's national team in Greece for an UEFA competition and we won 2-1. But after the game, the Greek boys started cursing us and throwing us items. I remember also that they were saying to us "Back to your country" and things like that. It was a bad experience and ever since I started avoiding them and the country itself.

And now I've met a Greek girl.

"Well history repeats itself. Right Athena?"

She looks at me sceptical.

"Oh yes it is. So it is better for me to go somewhere else. Aurora would you like to join me to the dance floor?" She said with a smile on her face.

What a beauty.

"Oh yes definitely!"

"Let's go!"

She left with her friend. But before she entered the dance floor, she looked at me one last time.

And I looked at her too.

But history repeats itself. And then I look away.

Next day, I go to the training centre with one of my teammates at 8 am. In 3 days from now, on Sunday, it is the first game of the season. We play against Roma U19 and we must get the 3 points. Thus, our coach is really strict these days. God, help me.

"I know that on Sunday we have the first big match of the season and I know that I've been really strict with you guys.."

Oh I have thought of that.

"...so I thought of something that will distress you.." Our coach said.

"What do you think it is?" Nicolò whispered.

"We'll see."

"..Boys..We're going to surprise the girls. We're going straight to their field and take their training stuff and ran away."

Everyone laughed and the loud noises wreaked a havoc inside the building. Then we all ran away to the girls' building section and each one of us selected randomly a specific girl to steal her things. And of course, in my mind I only had one.
Athena.

I immediately ran to her and at the same time she was taken by surprise. After I took her shoes and her things, she became furious.

"HOW DARE YOU!" She screamed

"GIVE ME MY NEW SHOES BACK NOW! AND MY TRAINING EQUIPMENT ALSO!"

"YOU ARE GONNA PAY FOR THIS YILDIZ!"

And then she hits me with her fists. Pain hits me in my left cheekbone but I try to hide it. But I still decided not to give her things. I hate it that she is snob and cannot even take a joke.

I ran as far as I could and she just watched me with a serious face.

"I HATE YOU" she screamed again.

I hate you too.

Athena's pov

I hate Kenan Yıldız.

I mean it. Okay I quite understood that all this was a joke made by the men's team but is he serious? Couldn't he choose another girl besides me? I'm trying to keep distance because I really don't like Turks. Everything that they've done to our ancestors is just awful; history has taught us that we should just avoid this country's people. And I'm doing everything to avoid Yıldız; not only because of our nations' history but also because he bumped into me on purpose some days ago. Okay I might find him handsome but who does he think he is?

Anyways, now that September has come, school starts in a few days. My parents told me that it is indeed good and I will have the chance to meet new people.

However now that I have some free time, I decide to make a FaceTime with Mia. We talk for hours.

Then I head back to the training centre, in the afternoon. Today is Saturday and tomorrow we play our first match of the season with Inter's U19 women's team while boys play with Roma's U19 men's team. So we train about 3 hours. During that though, I meet some other girls in my team; Lea, Giulia, Vittoria and Bianca. The four of them are so nice and seem pretty cool too.

"Have you heard the news?" Says Vittoria while we are all juggling.

"Which news?" Aurora asks sceptical.

"Kenan Yıldız is promoted to Juventus Next Gen."

Ahhhh again with this Yıldız. What's the matter with him?

"Isn't it too early for him to join at only 18 years old?" Lea asks.

"According to the coach of Next Gen he is ready and prepared for anything."

"Well I'm happy for him."

"Yes but Lea you haven't asked him yet.." Vittoria gives her a smirk.

"Ask him what?" I say.

"To go out. She wants him so bad for years. At least since he came in Juventus."

"Oh I get it. Where was he before Juve?"

"He was at Bayern Munchen" Giulia answered.

"Yes but still; He is Turkish and he has kind of a shitty character. What do you even like about him?"

"Why does it matter that he is Turkish? Maybe it seems weird to you, probably because you are Greek and there have been always differences between your countries as far as I remember, but I don't care at all about his nationality. And he is not only Turkish; he is half German also.."

She pauses for a second and then she continues.

"...and his demeanour is nice. He is such a gentleman and always respectful to everyone. He has a great sense of humour and he is so polite and the most important of all; he is so handsome."

"You really seem to like him."

"I do."

"But you never tell him!" Bianca says.

"One day I will!"

"But it will be too late!"

"No it won't!" All the girls laugh except for me.

I mean okay she is in love with him. But I still don't understand how; to me he seems untouchable and his manners are so bad. Every time he speaks to me, his words are spilled like venom. And I don't want that.
