Athena's pov

School is so boring. Today, as every other day, I lost 8 hours of my life in order to listen to every single and boring thing I've ever heard since I was born.

And the thing is that, the subjects like maths or physics are too easy for me because I did all the curriculum back in Greece when I was 13 and 14. I don't know why, but these type of subjects are taught really early in my country and the difficulty level is really high.

However, American history and language are kind of weird for me. I mean, I speak english fluently, however I am used to learn greek history and everything about my country; the economy, the military, the wars and the revolutions..I remember loving this specific subject; after maths of course.

But now everything is boring. At least I met some new friends; boys and girls. Alessia is one of them and she is the one with who I am going out tomorrow. She is a good girl and she has connections with lots of my teammates.

But except from all these, there is also a boy in my school who is so weird. Although he looks fine and he is famous among the students, he cannot take his eyes off me and my body, unfortunately. His name is Burak and he is from Turkey; what a coincidence to know two Turks who both annoy me. Despite that, Yıldız is looking at me with delicacy and does not look like a murderer unlike Burak, who is disgusting.

The bell rings and wakes me up from my thoughts. Finally free.

Right away, I go straight to my favourite Italian street food which is nearby; I discovered this "restaurant" some days ago and I was amazed by how delicious their pasta was. So I order one appetising Carbonara and polish it off, while I am heading to home.

It's been 2 moths now that I live here; October has come. And I am in love with this city; I mean Thessaloniki is amazing too but Turin is fantastic. I choose to walk through the Parco Ruffini and then go to my house. It is so peaceful here; only the songs of the birds can be heard and the fountains' water. It is perfect for relaxation after a busy day at school; far away from subjects, teachers and annoying students who gossip all the time.

Then every calming thought is destroyed when I see Burak across me. He is with one guy, probably his friend and they stare at me while I am walking.

I am starting to get a little bit nervous but I push my intrusive thoughts away. He is here by coincidence. Right?

I decide to go to my home. I place my keys in between my fingers and walk faster than I was planning to.

I now was in the narrow street where the Turkish Restaurant was in the end of it. But I felt weird. Something was off. Someone was following me and I was feeling it.

Oh my god no, no, no.

Please no.

And then I turn a little bit around and see Burak and his friend running towards me with a knife. I start panicking and run.

I run as far as I can; I have to get to the restaurant immediately.

But then Burak, probably, grabs me from my neck and hits me in the stomach.

I try to hit him with my keys and my legs, which are more powerful than my hands but he doesn't let me.

I scream for help; but no one is there. And I feel like losing control over my mind. I am having a panic attack and I know it. Unable to do anything I close my eyes and wait for the nightmare to go away.

But right after I close my eyes and prepare myself for the worst to happen, a 1.87 figure knocks down Burak and his friend. He punches and punches and punches..till there are no voices. I hear nothing. The last thing I hear is my heavy breath and the last thing I see is myself in his arms.

I wake up at the sound of a phone. It is my phone.
And it says 10.27 pm. I lost my training and not only just that; my mom had already called me 13 times.
But I am at home. So why does she need to call?

Then I look around and realise that I am not in my home. I was in a bedroom.
Suddenly I remember everything that happened in the last hours. Oh my god. They took me and probably even used my body. These disgusting humans.

I started panicking and crying at the same time. Why have I been so silly? Why, why, why..
Everything was spinning around me.

Then someone appeared in the door.

"Hey, hey, hey.. it's okay. Look at me Athena." He sat beside me in the bed and placed his hands in my face carefully.

"What..what happened? Why am I here? Why are  you here? Where are we...Oh my god.." I said while I was sobbing and breathing heavily.

"You are safe. You are okay. You are with me. Nobody hurt you okay? Please calm down, love." He took me in his arms and started stroking my hair.

"How? How did you find me?" Curiosity ate me inside, even though I hadn't recovered from the shock.

"I ordered a döner in the restaurant. When I got outside, I saw the attack and ran. When I saw you though, I got out of control; not only I got them away from you but I also hit them so hard that they couldn't even move, talk or see anything. There was blood everywhere; their blood. They deserved it." He told me softly while he moved his hand up and down my waist.

Then he looks at me.

"Are you feeling any better now?"

I nod.

"Good. Do you want me to make anything to eat? I can make some pasta if you'd like to."

"Some pasta would be good." I smile softly.

But before he goes away I grab his hand.

"Thank you for today. If you weren't there I don't know where I would be right now. You saved me."

"Do not thank me. I did what I had to. Seeing you like that was one of the worst things I've ever seen in my entire life."

"You are brave and smart, Athena. Like the greek goddess. You did everything you had to; gave all your powers and fought."

"So you do know some greek history, don't you?" I give him a small smirk.

"I know some, yeah. Had to study a little bit to impress you."

Then he realised what he said.

"Ehhh..Let me cook you the pasta now, after I embarrassed myself." He laughed.

"Oh and also. I left you some towels in the chair in case you want to take a shower. And there are some clean clothes in the closet. Make yourself at home." He said gently with a smile spread on his face.

"Thank you, Kenan." I smiled and thought simultaneously that saying his name felt so nice.

Then he closed the door and went to the kitchen.

Oh this man. What a gentleman.
While he was cooking the pasta, I took a shower. Meanwhile I was thinking of what he did today. He saved me. This handsome man brought me to his home, let me sleep in his bed and now he is cooking for me.

He cares about you.

The intrusive thoughts burn my mind.

Look at how he took care of you.

He always looks at you and only you.

All he cares about is you.

You.

I might like him.
Even a little bit.
