Athena's pov

Never have I ever imagined that I would leave from my hometown to go to another country.
And yet here I am. In Turin.

Yesterday was my last day back in Greece. After going to the Toumba Stadium and screaming chants with my friends while PAOK was winning, we went on for a walk around the city centre. The sea was so peaceful that it calmed down my mind and of course, my friends' company, was something invaluable. We ate together for the last time some delicious crepes and in the end, I said goodbye to everyone and headed to my home.

An hour ago I got here, in this new city and in my new home which, apparently, is a small one.
Once I get in it, I go straight to my bedroom. It is spacious with two windows; one above my wooden bed and the other one across it. By looking through it, I can see a clear view of Turin; it seems so densely populated and its lights scatter across the room. However the space seems so empty and so, I start decorating it with posters of my favourite footballers and of course of my old club but also I make it a little bit more girly; I place a brand new mirror next to my bed and a table which allows me to put all my makeup products.

Across the ceiling I place some "clouds" with embedded blue lights so that in the night it seems like a magical sky.

When I finish decorating my bedroom, I go down to the living room where my parents are.

"I am going out for a walk and I might also find a club in which I can play."

"Oh about that; we already have signed you for a football club" my mom says with a stressing voice.

"Really? Which?" I ask surprised.

"Juventus"

And the room is in deep silence.

Day two in Italy.
Who would have actually expected that? And it went surprisingly good in the end, I must say.
Yesterday I walked around the city which was incredibly beautiful and full of shops and restaurants. I saw also lots of nice people out there and I have to admit that Italian men are so handsome. Ah.

After I woke up, Juventus' U19 women's team manager called me and told me that training would start today at 7pm. To be honest I like better evening training than the morning one and that is because the weather is cooler and especially during the summer.

After having eaten my breakfast I open the TV and watch my favourite series.
Hours pass by and having already packed my things up, I leave the house and head to Juventus' training centre.
Break a leg.

───────────── ꔫ ─────────────

I arrive at the training centre thirty minutes before the predetermined time so I and coach could discuss some things before my fresh start. When we finish our conversation, he hands me my new jersey with the number 19 as I've requested. At least it is black and white and therefore it reminds me of my former club and all the fond memories.

After a few minutes, lots of girls arrive and head inside the lockers; so do I.

I remain silent not knowing exactly what to do; even though I've down the same routine for 13 years. Some girls looked me like I was an alien and some others gave me dirty looks from the time I sat down to put my boots on.

Then a blonde girl sits beside me. At least I can make a new friend.
"Ciao!" (Italian tramslation: Hello)

"Hello" I respond to her with shyness in my voice.

"Are you new in the team?"

"Yes I am. I came here in Turin yesterday and today I joined the team."

"Must have talent huh? It is difficult to join Juve from other clubs. Here most of us come from the academies; but from a very young age."

"I used to play in a club called PAOK in Greece. My parents though told me three days ago that we would come here. And here I am."

"Oh that must be so difficult for you. I mean, Italy is clearly different from Greece. And it must be also sad that you left your friends behind but at the same time it is exciting to live in a new place, isn't it?"

"It is difficult. I was in deep sorrow when I left my hometown but I can assure you that this second day in Turin goes better than I expected."

"It sure is! My name is Aurora by the way. What is yours?"

"Athena, nice to meet you." A smile is spread across my face and I give her my hand.

"What a beautiful name. Is it derived by ancient greek?"

"Thank you so much. Yes it is. I like your name too!"

"Thank you Athena. I would really like to hang out with you one day."

"We will make sure of that!"

"Good evening girls! Have you prepared yourselves for the start of our training session and this year's season? Are you ready girls?" Our coach said with enthusiasm.

And we all answered yes and then we got out. It was so nice to live again. Football is my entire life. Football is the love of my life. I cannot even think one thing that I'll love more besides this specific sport.

We got out on the field and coach Bruzzano presented me to all girls, while some of them were chatting, gossiping and giving me looks. However, afterwards, we did multiple exercises to warm up, juggling and then shoots. In the end we played in teams in order to ameliorate our techniques and to keep ourselves in balance. When we finished, our coach told us some information about the league, its cup and the most important of all, about our mentality which is critical when playing a sport.

Once he finished his speech we all got into the building in order to change into clean clothes, have a shower and get our boots out.

"Goodbye girls! First training session was a complete success, if I might say. We focus on tomorrow though. Till then, good night!" Our coach said and then left from the building.

"We should exchange instagrams and hang out one day!" Aurora told me and handed me her phone in order to search my account.

"Here you are." I typed my username and gave her phone back.

"Great! Have a good night! Text me if you have free time."

"Of course. It would be great to chat."

She smiled and left.
A few minutes later all girls were gone except one girl with black hair. She was taller than me but she definitely was new in the football field. I saw her during training.

I didn't talk to her because of the looks she gave me throughout our practice. These type of people are not worthy of my time.

Then I got one last time out, on the pitch. Next to our's there was another pitch for the U17 and U19 boys. And it seemed like the U19 was having a training session.

I watched them from far away but I took some steps in order to see more clear. And then I saw a boy.
Oh my. He looked handsome.
