As everyone congratulated us, I realized something.

"We need a new Gamma."

"You're right," Blaze said.

"But who?" said Luna.

"Does anyone here know anything about being a Gamma?"

"I do," Luna said.

"You do?"

"Yes."

"Okay, then. You're the new Gamma."

"Okay."

・・・

I was hunting with Frost, and we came across some other wolves. It was a small group, about five or six.

"Hello," I said, warily.

"Hello," they said.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"My name is Echo. This is Leaf, that's Maple, and there's Rock. This is my son, Fang.

"Where are you from?" I asked.

"We've been lone wolves for years, but as the Barren Season approaches, we can't find enough food.

"You wanna join our pack? All lone wolves are welcome," I said, smiling.

"Plus, we got plenty of food," Frost added.

"That's very kind of you, but we don't wanna impose. Also, why are you pups out here alone?"

"We started our own pack two months ago. We've already killed an enemy and made a home."

"Yeah, and she's the Alpha Female," said Frost.
Maple, a pup, spoke. "Mom, we need help. Can we please join their pack?"

"We have more than enough room. Please let us help."

"Well, okay. I'll help hunt and do whatever I can."

"Great. We live on the other side of the mountain."

"Alright. We'll pack our things and come."

"Great."

When we got there I called the pack to introduce everyone.

"Pack!" They walked up, confused.

"Who are these wolves?" asked Blaze, suspicious.

"These are some lone wolves we found while we were hunting."

"Yes, I'm Echo. This is my son, Fang. We have Maple here, that's Rock, and there's Leaf."

"Well, welcome to the pack," Obsidian said.

"Thank you. I can help hunt. So can my sister Rock and her daughter Maple," Leaf said.

"Thank you, Luna and Al can show you around."

"Thanks."

・・・

A while later, I was on top of the cave. Frost walked up.

"Hey," he said.

"Hey."

"Are you excited?"

"For what?"

"Blaze told me your birthday is in two weeks. Then you'll finally be a big wolf."

"Yeah. I never asked, when's your birthday?"

"In a month. Then I'll be an adult too."

"Cool. I didn't know it was so close to mine."

"Yeah."

Frost came closer but then I heard a voice behind me. "Hey, you guys."

"Hey, Maple." She sounded worried. "What's wrong?"

"Well, uh, this wolf came from the Bluemoon Pack–"

"Bluemoon?" I stood angrily.

"He's gone now. He was just a messenger."

"Well, what did he have to say?"

"The Bluemoon Pack is mad that we killed Gray Wind. They are declaring war on us."

"We were already at war," I murmured, "don't need to make it official," I spoke up. "We need to start training. I'll call a meeting to organize who's training who and who's doing what."

・・・

Once everything was organized, we started training.

"We'll start with battling one-on-one," I said.

"Okay, how should we pair up?" Frost asked.

"Um, I don't know. Can you pair everyone up?"

"Yeah. How about Obsidian and Luna, Blaze and Fang, Al and Rock, Aqua and Maple, Leaf and Moonhigh, and Echo with me."

"Sounds great. Everyone, get with your partner and we'll take turns."

"I know we're a pack, but try to do some damage to each other. Not too much."

After everyone paired up we started. "Frost, you're in charge."

"Okay. We'll do Blaze and Fang first."

"Okay. Ready, Fang?"

"You're on," Fang smiled. He then whispered, "Get ready to lose."

Blaze frowned, then took a swipe.

Fang dodged it and ducked under Blaze, who kicked him down and swiped back. In the end, Fang won.

"Good job, you almost beat me," Fang smiled.

"I'll get you next time," Blaze snarled.

"Anyways, who's next?"

"We'll go!" Obsidian volunteered.

"We will?" Luna looked nervous.

"Okay, whenever you're ready."

"I won't be mad at who wins. I hope you won't either."

"I won't. Ready to start?"

"Yeah."

"Three, two, one, fight!"

She took a swipe. They wrestled around. Obsidian swiped. After a few minutes, Luna admitted defeat.

"Nice job."

"Thanks."

"Alright. Next up is Al and Rock."

As always, Al was distracted "Alaska!?"

"Yeah?"

"Your turn! You're against Rock."

"Alright."

"Dude, you're so distracted I'm gonna win."

"We'll see." He rolled his eyes.

Al gets distracted easily, but he's tougher and smarter than most think.

Before Rock could even swipe, Al jumped up and attacked.

"Well, that was a close one, but Al's the winner."

"Wow, Al. You're better than I thought," Rock said.

"Next, Aqua and Maple."

They swiped at each other till Maple won.

"Cool, the next two are Leaf and Moonhigh." He looked at me and whispered, "You got this." He winked. "Three, two, one, fight!"

Before he finished counting I rolled under and swiped. Leaf ran in circles around me, making me dizzy, then swiped me. Even though I'd lost I was proud of her for beating me.

"Nice move Leaf. Definitely use that move in the real thing," I smiled.

"Thanks."

"Okay, now Echo and me."

"I'll count down. Three, two, one, fight!" I yelled.

They swiped at each other till Echo won. Then we all thought about our battles and figured out what we needed to work on and worked on it.
