Milly's Pov
When i wake up, thanks to the rare sun shining, im in a modern bedroom, and i just lay there staring at the ceiling thinking about dad and what happened with Isabella.
I would have never thought Isabella would have said all that in front of other people. Especially her boyfriend and her boyfriends family because i thought she would try to turn them against me. But hearing her say them things about dad brought a side out of me that i've kept hidden because i'm scared of that side of me, and i'm surprised Emmett could pull me away.
I just hope Isabella doesn't try anything when she gets back with her mother because i don't want any more drama. I just want to focus on dad because when he wakes up and gets discharged from the hospital, he is going to need my help. I sigh, knowing it's going to be hard working at the hospital and helping dad to i'm going to push through it because dad is worth it.
I snap out my thoughts when i hear talking as outside the door, then slowly, the bedroom door opens, and Esme pokes her head through the gap.
"Morning, sweetheart. Just wanted to come and check in to see if you want to come down for breakfast?" She asked softly with a hint of concern
"C-Can i possibly have c-coffee to please? I mean, if you don't mind, of course. Wait, what am i saying. I should go to the store and get my own groceries because you are feeding enough people already." I ramble out
"Shhh, my dear. Take a deep breath for me." She said, walking into the room, sitting on the edge of the bed next to me
"I'm sorry." I whisper, looking down
"Now, sweetie. I want to get one thing straight, okay? While you are here under my care, i don't want you buying any of your own groceries because it's my job to take care of you and provide you with everything you need. You dont need to worry about work right now. The CEO of the hospital has given you paid leave until you are ready to work again. I know right now you are struggling, and that's okay, but do not shut me out, sweetheart. Let me help you." She said softly, taking my hand in hers, holding it firmly
"I'm so sorry, Esme. I'm such a mess and a burden." I whisper as tears gather in my eyes
"Come here, dear. You are a mess, but that's okay because someone you love is in hospital, and don't you ever call yourself a burden again. You are not a burden. You are a wonderful, polite child who needs love, attention, support, and a family around them. I am going to do everything i can to help you through this, sweetheart." She said, laying down and holding me as i cried into her neck
"Mom?" A sweet voice called out from outside the door
"In here, Alice." Esme said as she played with my hair
"I brought our guests breakfast up here. I thought that would be easier for them after the past few days." Alice said, walking into the bedroom, but i don't remove my face from Esme's neck
