Chapter Seventeen

I watch in horror as suddenly Asa is now inches next to Itsuki, even after being kicked really hard against the wall. He tries to strike Itsuki, but he swiftly dodges the attack and teleports behind him.

"You'll die easily just like Kai." Itsuki says as I shudder from his words as Asa begins to laugh as the crowd joins in with him, very eerily.
"Humans have far too much concern over life." Asa sinisterly grins as he raises his hand in the air.

Anxiety suddenly courses through my veins as I begin to feel as if something is about to happen... something bad. I'm chained up... and useless... I sigh as I watch as Asa begins to move his hand towards his chest, suddenly the anxiety overtakes me making me gasp.

"Chauve-souris... feast!" Asa yells as suddenly all the hundreds of bloodthirsty vampires begin to charge onto the stage. I begin to panic as I try to break free from the chains as I watch as Itsuki has a halfhearted smile.

"Shadow clone jitsu!" Itsuki begins to battle the vampires as I watch in horror, awaiting his demise... there's no way he can beat this many... my heart races as I look around for anything or anyone for help. I glance over as I notice that Ashley is no longer on the floor... where did she go?

I close my eyes as tears begin to form as I realize this may be the end... and it's all my fault. My heart begins to beat out of my chest as I begin to think of ways that I'll die as I begin to hear screeching from the crowd.

My eyes shoot open as I watch as an arrow flies through the air and explodes a group of vampires. I gasp as Itsuki continues battling the vampires as I watch as another group of vampires are kicked across the room by... that red headed woman, Faye.

What's she doing here? I ignore my question for now as I watch in hopefulness after all. We might survive after all... I sigh in relief as I continue fighting against the chains as I watch them fight the horde off. I close my eyes as I begin to think about when Itsuki and I met... and how I felt an instant connection to him.

I just want him to be okay... I smile as suddenly I begin to feel anxious. I open my eyes as I'm met with Asa's red glowing eyes. He looks angry...
He sinisterly grins at me as he yanks the chains off of me one by one as fear grows inside of me each chain he removes.

He reaches out to grab my arm as I gasp in fear as I realize he's fixing to teleport us... and I'll be lost once again... he won't let me live this time, I just know it.
"No!" I hear Itsuki yell as he swiftly teleports to us and grabs onto Asa.

I close my eyes as I breathe in heavily. I don't hear the crowd... I'm definitely not where I was once at. I open my eyes as I realize Itsuki teleported with us. I begin to feel overwhelmed with happiness as I smile at Itsuki thankful for small favors.

Suddenly my smile is completely erased, as I watch Asa jab Itsuki with a spear in his back. I scream as blood begins to come out of Itsuki's mouth. I begin to scream louder and tears begin to form as I watch as Itsuki falls over and collapses to the ground.

No... no this can't be happening. I begin to panic as I continue to sob in hysterics, over the scene that unfolded so quickly. How did Itsuki not sense that... how did I not sense that...

"You stubborn, ungrateful woman, you're all the same." Asa grunts as he steps on Itsuki's back making me wince as he walks over to me. He places his hand around my neck as he raises my entire body into the air tightening his grip as he laughs.

I try to fight against his hold as I lose the ability to breathe... I feel my throat closing in as my sight starts to blur.
"You'll be my slave forever." He lowers me down as he bears his fangs as he growls into my ear causing me to gasp in fear as he closes in on me.
