Legends of Arceus: Rose Moonweed

Chapter 2: Runaway chaos

Dawn walked after them,wondering what the hell was happening. All of a sudden,something caught her attention. It was something resembling a phone that was making beeping sounds. It's probably Dawn's phone,having changed shape.
Suddenly a message pops on the screen.
"I bestow this Arc Phone and thy mission: seek out all pokemon."

She looked at the message confused. What the hell was happening right now? She put the phone in her pocket and continued to walk.
She continued walking and suddenly saw professor Laventon,along with Rose. Rose had her Eevee back in her arms,where it seemed content.
Professor Laventon sighs. "Alas...yet another miss."
He turns to Dawn. "Aha! I'm glad you've come to my rescue,my new friends from the sky!" Rose looks at him with a look that says "is this man insane?" She sighs. Dawn looks at her, suddenly recognizing her. It's Rose Moonweed,the famous actress.

"I tried catching my little runaways by tossing some pokeballs their way,but I'm not the best at this sort of thing,you see.." He explains to the two girls. Rose looks at him with pity,despite still judging him.
"I'd love to give you a go, but perhaps I should tell you about these three first?" He says.
He points to the one resembling a bird. "Now, that one is Rowlet." He says.
Rose recognized the pokemon. She had starred in a movie as a child about a young girl and a Rowlet going on an adventure,discovering many treasures along the way.

She's suddenly disturbed from her thoughts by the professor's voice. "Rowlet can photosynthesize like a plant, and apparently it battles using it's sharp feathers." He explains. Dawn looks very intrigued,Rose guessing that she's never seen one in real life before.
He continues talking. "That one over there is cyndaquil." Ah yes,the Johto starter. She had visited that place as a child and met it's starters. She was supposed to get a starter from any region, but nome of them just felt like hers. There was no special connection people spoke of.
She had only felt that connection with Eevee.

"The fire burning on Cyndaquil's back will flare up whenever it is surpised or irate." The professor explains about it.
Rose turns her eyes to the most familiar pokemon of them all, Oshawott. She was from unova,so oshawott was bound to be familiar to her.
"The pokemon near the pond is Oshawott." He explains. Rose looked at the Oshawott,remembering all the times she saw little kids with those.

"Oshawott naps while floating in water, and it can battle using the shell like object on it's belly." The professor said,giving them more info about the pokemon. Although Rose already knew a lot about them,she decided to stay quiet.
"Oh my! I nearly forgot to cover the most crucial thing- how to go about catching pokemon!" He exclaimed. He takes out capsules that resemble modern pokeballs. Rose's eyes widen. She had seen these in her historical acting movies. Could it be that they were transported into the past?

"Here you are, my girls: Pokeballs! Throw these at pokemon to catch them." He said,smiling brightly.
Rose looks at it, analyzing the design.
"Ah, but that won't do for an explanation,will it? I do apologize. Let me be more thorough." He says,clearly apologetic. "Now, I've mentioned already that pokemon are strange, marvelous creatures. What's so strange about them you ask?" Rose looks at him,holding herself back from saying that nobody asked, instead choosing to say nothing and let him continue his explanations.

"Well each, and every pokemon is able to shrink itself down to miniscule size!" Dawn seems curious about this,while Rose resisted the urge to roll her eyes. She never liked men,due to past issues.
"And that's where pokeballs come in!" He said, continuing explaining. "Pokeballs are a recent invention,you see. Throw one of them them at a Pokemon and.." Rose looked at him with a look,silently telling him to get over with it already. "Why,the pokemon will shrink down and fit inside the ball,comfy as can be. And with that, you've caught a pokemon!"
Rose sighs,as she looks at the device in her hands. As much as she wanted to get away from her life,this wasn't in her plans.
