"Hey love, I'm home," Rhys greeted with a wide smile as he walked in the door, waiting for his love to welcome him.
"Rhy!" she called out happily, and he grinned, knowing it was his beloved.
She jumped on him and he wrapped his arm around her holding her close and smooching her cheeks.
"I missed you," she pouted and buried her face in his neck.
"I missed you too," Rhys said as he walked in, set his bag aside, and sank onto the couch.
"Did you eat, baby?" Rhys asked, brushing a few strands of her hair aside.
"No, I was waiting for you," she replied, avoiding his gaze.
"Amara," Rhys said firmly. She looked up at him with big doe eyes and a pout and slightly puffed cheeks, and all he wanted to do was bite a chunk of em.
"This won’t work on me," Rhys said, his tone firm as he placed his hands on her waist.
"I couldn’t eat without you," Amara murmured.
"But it’s already midnight, baby. I don’t want you going hungry," Rhys said, his green eyes filled with worry.
"Oh, silly baby, even if I eat without you, I’d still feel starved," Amara said, her beautiful black eyes gazing at him with pure love.
"And why’s that?" Rhys asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Because even a piece of bread feels like a feast with you, but a whole loaf alone would leave me empty. You’re the one who makes me feel complete," she explained, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek.
"And that’s exactly why you’re a writer," Rhys chuckled.
"Well, number one romance author for a reason," Amara said, flipping her hair with a smile.
"So, any progress?" Rhys asked.
"Not really, couldn’t find any inspiration," Amara replied, a hint of sadness in her voice.
"How about we go out on a date tomorrow? It might spark some ideas," Rhys suggested, smiling warmly.
"Really?" she asked, excitement in her voice.
"Yes," he said with a nod.
"Oh, absolutely yes! It’s been so long since we’ve had a date. I’m so excited!" she exclaimed.
"Me too," Rhys replied, covering her face with kisses.
"Shall we eat now?" he asked.
"Okay," she said, helping him out of his blazer.
"Want to help me change?" he asked with a smirk.
"Why not?" She whispered in his ear, she bit on his ear lobe before trailing kisses down his neck. She slowly unbuttoned his shirt and let her lips suck on his soft skin.
"Mmm, baby," he moaned, tilting his head back in pleasure.
"Let's skip dinner; I’m craving dessert," Rhys said, lifting her up into his arms.
"No, stop!" Amara protested, hitting him. Her petal like touches only fueled his desire.
"Put me down," she said, squirming in his hold. She knew if they ended up making love, she’d be sore for a week—and they still had that date to look forward to.
He held her like a koala, cradling her neck and drawing her face closer. As he captured her lips, he gently sucked on them, and she responded with a kiss. He smiled against her lips, biting them softly.
