In the vast multiverse, countless planes and myriad gods and demons exist. Each plane, each deity or demon, possesses its own rules of existence and domains of power. These numerous rules, domains, and laws of power, in turn, form the foundation of the vibrant and diverse existence of the multiverse.
Life and death, the blooming and withering of flowers, what is thrown up must come down, and the flowing air brings a refreshing breeze. Every creature in the multiverse survives by adhering to rules and laws; without them, life cannot exist, and the multiverse, along with its gods and demons, would lose the basis of its existence.
However, while the rules and laws that determine why the multiverse exists in this manner rather than that are of utmost importance, they are not the primary concern for the gods and demons or the myriad beings of the world. Everyone has grown accustomed to these rules and laws, which are unlikely to change.
Rather than pondering whether water could one day burn a person or fire could drown one, people are more inclined to consider matters relevant to their own reality, focusing on things that are unlikely to change but can be exploited, such as the contract laws supported by all gods and demons in the multiverse.
When the contract laws requiring blood, flesh, and soul to be signed were established, and who formulated this law that has the greatest impact on all planes of the multiverse, remains untraceable. Even the name of the deity or demon who devised this law has faded into the annals of time. Yet, from the moment of its inception, this law has garnered the attention of gods and demons, leading to an increasing number of them investing a portion of their power into it, ultimately becoming a powerful and unshakeable law of the multiverse.
The contract law, which uses flesh as a medium and soul as a vessel, and imposes punishment for any violation, is the most lenient yet the most stringent law in the multiverse.
It is considered lenient because anyone, any being, can enter into this law as long as they provide sufficient signing fees. This signing fee typically consists of the power possessed by the signatory; as long as they contribute a portion of their power, they can inscribe the terms of the contract within their soul, under the supervision of the myriad gods and demons.
Conversely, it is deemed stringent because once a contract is established, the lives bound by the contract are subject to its terms. Any violation will incur not only the penalties agreed upon by the parties involved but also punishment from the overseers of the contract law, the gods and demons.
Thus, regardless of who they are, anyone who understands the significance of the contract law will not violate it. When signing a contract based on the soul and under the supervision of divine power, they will proceed with utmost caution and care.
However, just as there is no such thing as perfection in the world, the contract law, overseen by divine power, cannot be flawless and still has various loopholes. Hence, the concept of master-servant contracts emerged within the multiverse.
"What? You actually want to sign a master-servant contract with me... uh, may I ask who is the master and who is the servant?" In the study, the lesser demon who had just arrived in the Isilia continent through the mysterious summoning magic circle looked up at the young man towering over him and timidly inquired.
"You fool! Is playing dumb amusing? If you continue this charade, prepare to meet the supreme deity!" After a moment of surprise, Darn, who had just grasped the intricacies of the contract law, became furious and seized the lesser demon by the neck, shaking him vigorously.
After shaking the diminutive, two-foot-tall demon until it was on the verge of passing out, Darn finally released his grip, tossing the lesser demon to the ground, where two swords were immediately poised against its throat.
