After breakfast, we all pitched in to clean up and put everything where it belonged. As we did, Elijah and Nana rambled on about random topics, while I silently helped. I wasn't sure on what to say.. I didn't feel like I had anything to say to them.

It still felt so strange having her here, helping around and filling in for my parents. Don't get me wrong, she's absolutely so sweet and kind! but there's just something more to this I can't explain.. I have this feeling that she knows something about them, and I have to find out what it is no matter how long it takes me.

I wish my abilities were fully developed already so I could have an advantage.. however, I also wondered if I would have another gift added on to my vampire strengths. Only some vampires have these 'gifts'. Some can read minds, shape-shift, and more I probably don't know about.

Wouldn't it be cool to read minds though.. Actually, It would be a bit weird thinking about it. What if someone has dirty thoughts! I wouldn't wanna know that.. that's just gross..

"Rina! Come on tell nan about Xavier.. He wasn't so bad!" He whined, slouching his back as Nana laughed. I scrunched my face. "Eww."

I've already told him I never really liked him.. He gave me creepy vibes! He was nice but the cold stares he gave me.. it would send chills down my spine.

Nan put her hand on his shoulder, shaking her head. "You'll find better, my dear." She stated with a smile. "Now.. come on little mouses, we should get started with our.. training." She added as she began to walk towards the front door.

I furrowed my eyebrows at that. "In broad daylight? Do you want us to get killed by hunters or get caught by the humans.." I murmured, rolling my eyes.

I stood behind of the door way, refusing to leave.

There was no way I was going to get caught and burned alive! We all know how hunters and some humans feel about supernaturals. If they catch us hunting and killing, they'll go insane!

"Irina, come on." She said, crossing her arms as Elijah intensely watched. "I don't feel like dying." I mumbled.

She raised her eyebrow, then grabbing my arm, forcefully dragging me out. Even if I tried to do something, it was no use against an older vampire with experience.

Elijah giggled, sticking his tongue out at me as we walked towards the woods we lived by. I growled, my fangs and red eyes popping out.

I was quickly put in a bad mood by all of this. I surely didn't want to hunt in broad daylight nor train just to possibly get caught. It was just too much and i'm pretty sure vampires are supposed to hide their true identity! No one can know we exist.

"Isn't it exciting that you get to focus on your abilities today.." She said, smiling. Elijah happily nodded. "Hell yeah! I'm so ready to kick ass." He winked at me.

I swear i'm going to beat him up some day..

The deeper we went into the woods, the more I began to feel this piercing gaze burning holes into me. It was intensely watching me from afar.. I don't know what it was. It could've just been my imagination, so I ignored this uneasy feeling.

Suddenly we stopped, nan let go of my arm.

We stood in place, encircled by trees and nature. This scenery somewhat reminded me of the dreams i've had before. However, it was daylight so I couldn't really tell if it was the same exact spot.

"Release your vampire side." Nana said, her eyes and fangs were exposed. Her skin seemed to lighten more, almost sparkling under the sunlight. Then it was Elijah's turn, he transformed into his vampire form, exposing his fangs and bloody eyes.

Now it was my turn. I was a bit hesitant before closing my eyes, and extending my fangs. My eyes changed colors, and suddenly my senses heightened as well.

I felt more aware of my surroundings, listening to the small sounds, and savoring the cool breeze against my skin. The rustle of leaves, and distant whispers became clear to me. I could even sense the subtle shift in the air when I focus so closely.

"Good.. now I want you both to focus on your prey. Listen to their heartbeat, and their small sounds." She whispered, hiding herself behind some bushes. We followed behind her, fixating on several animals.

I felt one approach so slowly, and closely. I was prepared to pounce onto the deer, tearing it to pieces before nana stopped me.

"We don't want to scare the prey away..having patience and control is important, Irina." She stated, wrapping her hand around my arm. "It's important to wait for the right moment.. ensuring that you don't scare off the other prey." She murmured.

Elijah growled, chasing off after the deer. He didn't pay much attention to what our Grandmother said, letting his vampire side get the best of him.

Nana used her speed to grab him before he had done something worse. Forcefully, she took him by the collar and dragged him back behind the bushes.

"Why did you do that for?!" He groaned. "I was so close.. So close." He murmured, shaking his head. She sighed, letting him go. "Have patience."

We concealed ourselves behind bushes and the trees, waiting for the animals to proceed towards us with no fear. I found this a bit difficult, and overwhelming..

I sensed so many animals around the area, listening to their tiny sounds.

I tried focusing once again on my surroundings, however then I discerned a slow heartbeat. That was when the intense stare returned. I frantically scanned the area, like a crazy person just to see nothing.

"Irina.."

I froze in spot, my eyes flickering between their natural color and a bloody red. I wasn't focused on hunting anymore but instead on that creature.

Nana stood, and looked around the zone. "We're not alone." She whispered, clenching her fists.

Looking back at her, I began to feel faint. I knew I wasn't the only one who had sensed that.. I wasn't paranoid after all.

I leaned against the tree for support, breathing heavily. I closed my eyes, and slowly fell onto the ground.

This all was overwhelming for me. This intense feeling of being watched, and hearing their voice made me sick.

"Irina.." She lowered herself, caressing my face. "You're so cold." Murmured nana, before slowly taking me into her arms.

I felt tears spill out of my eyes, feeling more faint and dizzy with every passing second. Elijah rubbed my back, while nana held me in her arms. "Hey, you're okay." He whispered as we all walked back home.

Was I really...? I've never felt this way before. I've never felt these wave of emotions come through me all at once like this. The thought of being watched from afar, and having to listen to them say my name.. I couldn't handle that.

I just couldn't.
