Prologue

The Valdhris Clan is the head clan of the Elves of the Valley of Gold. They are the oldest and the ones who united the clans during The Great Purging or as the humans call it, the Great Cleansing. After the Great Purging, the Valdhris clan had convinced the rest of the clans to migrate with their respective dragon line to Steelridge Range. There, they worked together to make The Vale home to all of the dragons and Nandorin Lorinand. After hatching, it was the elves who would take the eggshells and use them to create the alloy necessary to protect against the venin. The Valdhris clan is also the reason for the wards that now protect Navarre. After the end of The Great War the elves did their best to leave the humans alone, content in the Vale with their dragon brethren.

Naeserhya Valdhris was the eldest daughter to Saerion and Cordelia Valdhris, the leaders of the elven population that resided within the Vale. The elleth was the perfect daughter and heir, excelling at all her classes and lessons. Of course, her clan's gift helped her greatly with her studies as well as mastering the fighting technique and the weapons of her clan and people. Her clan's gift was an infallible memory, allowing her clan to be unable to forget a single thing. It was both a blessing and a curse. Despite being the perfect daughter on paper, she was quite the rebellious little scamp with a vivid imagination fed by her grandmother's tales of the elven rider Eiseran and his mighty bonded Ancalagon the Mountainous.

When she was just shy of sixteen years of age, which correlated to six human years in terms of physical development, she had snuck off to go explore and try to find a dragon to bond with her and go on adventures with like Eiseran. It was quite simple as she had just begun her training that year and turned out to be quite the little prodigy. The little elleth had stumbled upon a massive white dragon slumbering away in his home. Sadly, for her he was in a deep sleep and would not wake no matter what she tried. However she was determined, a week later she had returned to his home to find him still asleep with a massive black dragon by the name of Tairn checking on him. As expected, Tairn told her she wasn't allowed to be in the other dragon's home and to leave. She had brought him a gift, a painting of him she had done. The elfling had just started learning so it was clumsy and obviously done by a child. Tairn allowed her to leave the painting before making her go home. It went along like this until she was twenty-six, the equivalent of 16 human years, and told by her parents that she needed to take her schooling and training a lot more seriously. Of course, being the dutiful daughter and heir that she was she obeyed her parents and informed Tairn when she delivered her last painting. At that point, the walls of the slumbering dragon were covered in the paintings she made for him. However, she had devised a plan that she would join Basgiath War College and become a rider like her idol, Eiseran. She was hoping that the dragon she would gift paintings to would wake when she is ready. Ninety-four years later she was finally ready to set out, the death of her little brother only encouraging her to spend some time away from her home.

The elves however rarely ever involve themselves in human affairs however their heir involving themselves in the war with the venin will force them to act.

So, idk if anyone is going to read this but I 100% forgot about the other fanfic I started almost immediately. I started reading The Empyrean the other day and I'm already mostly through the second book. I had an idea, so I figured I'd give it a whirl. Also, there's not exactly going to be racism in the book but they're definitely going to hate on our girl for being an elf

Nandorin Lorinand is Valley of Gold in Sindarin according to google. If any of the random elvish words I pull from google are please lemme know.

Anythin in italics is in Sindarin. It's easier to just do it like that then try to find the correct translations. Plus, I'm not sure if the language is even complete so

One part here is one chapter in the actual book. If anyone does enjoy this just know it takes me a bit to get each chapter transferred and the scenes altered to fit my character in.

Idk if there's gonna be a love interest considering MC is 120 years old and humans die kinda fast so idk. definitely not anyone from the first-years as a long-term love interest. those mfs die too much for that. I kinda like the idea of a Tyr being her love interest as I'm positive the hair kink xaden has is a culture thing but again idk. I don't know if I'll do a fated mates sorta thing as it feels a little cliche, but we'll see how it goes. MC is a hoe though; I've not written smut really so it's probably gonna suck. I'll figure something out to make it good

With the anatomy of the elves, I have a whole thing I'm fleshing out since they're not traditional elves in the sense that they have horns and are a lot more in touch with nature and by extension their more animalistic instincts. examples are they have really good hearing (mc and her grandma actually have amazing hearing, even by elven standards. being able to hear the songs the wind is singing when high in the air is not common at all.) I think the horns are gonna be like, a clan thing. so only the great clans have horns as they all used to be separate, and the horned elves were the rulers/protectors of the (cultivators? tenders? care takers? idk pick a word) elves that primarily cared for the land of the og dragon hatching grounds. horned elves were also the only ones allowed to care for the dragon eggs etc when they were incubating. obviously, dragon mothers had shit to do and needed babysitters(eggsitters?) to prevent anything from happening to them. Horned elves are also the only ones who can put up the wards for the dragon hatching grounds. The horned elves did have some magic to influence the land around them but not enough for it to be very noteworthy. (my bad for the info dump, I'll put it with the rest of the stuff later so it's nice and organized)

Another thing, I'm probably going to change up the timeline a bit. really just extend the time period between events happening and make it easier for the elves to have the long lives I want them to have.

That's everything so I just have to put the obligatory this is a fanfic spiel and we're kudos.

I ONLY OWN MY MADE UP CHARACTERS, THE EXTRA MADE UP LORE, PLUS THE THIRD THING I'M PROBABLY FORGETTING.
