In the grand hall, Emperor Wen was urgently summoning his ministers to discuss a response to Beihuan's request for grain.

At the moment, Emperor Wen was very troubled.

Giving grain to Beihuan would be akin to supporting the enemy of the Daqian Empire.

But refusing to give grain would likely lead Beihuan to raid southward during the upcoming winter, plunging the northern regions, which had just enjoyed a few years of peace, back into turmoil once again.

The Daqian Empire had just experienced the Crown Prince's rebellion, leaving the internal situation highly unstable.

Engaging Beihuan now would be a risky endeavor with little chance of victory.

Even if victorious, it would be a pyrrhic victory.

While Emperor Wen was troubled, the hawks and the doves were arguing fiercely.

However, the doves were clearly in the majority.

Emperor Wen, feeling dizzy from the arguments and unable to make a decision, was interrupted by Consort Shu, who pushed past the guards outside and rushed in, sobbing, "Your Majesty, you must do something for Li! Waaahh..."

"Cough, cough..."

Emperor Wen cleared his throat and gave Consort Shu a meaningful glance, "I am discussing important matters with the ministers, my dear. Please step back and we can talk later."

Consort Shu not only refused to step back but cried even louder, "Your Majesty, Yun Zheng kicked Li in a vital spot. It's possible that Li won't even be able to function as a man anymore! Waaahh..."

"What?"

Emperor Wen's expression changed dramatically, but he quickly regained his composure.

After a moment, he chuckled, "My dear, don't exaggerate. I know the character of the Sixth Prince. He wouldn't dare do such a thing!"

Grand Duke Xu Shifupu also stepped forward with a smile, "Consort Shu, Your Majesty is busy with state affairs. Don't joke around with him. The Sixth Prince is known for his gentle nature. He wouldn't do such a thing."

"Gentle nature" was a polite way of saying that the Sixth Prince was timid and a complete pushover.

Consort Shu was stunned and cried even louder.

If even Emperor Wen didn't believe her, would his own brother-in-law?

Yet everything she said was true!

Just then, a guard reported from outside the hall, "Your Majesty, the Sixth Prince requests an audience."

The Sixth Prince?

Emperor Wen was taken aback and asked, "What does he want?"

The guard lowered his head, hesitantly replying, "The Sixth Prince says he kicked the Third Prince's... private parts and has come to confess his crime."

Hearing this, the ministers' faces twitched.

Could it be?

The timid Sixth Prince actually kicked the Third Prince's private parts?

Emperor Wen was equally shocked, his expression darkening as he barked at the guard, "Bring this rebellious son to me immediately!"

Soon, Yun Zheng was brought into the hall.

Yun Zheng quietly observed his adoptive father seated on the imperial throne.

Not bad, despite being in his fifties, he didn't look particularly old.
