Y/N's heart sank as Anakin Skywalker stepped forward, a fierce determination evident in his gaze. The Jedi's blue lightsaber hummed with an ominous glow, the beam illuminating the tension that crackled in the air. He was an embodiment of the light side of the Force, the very force Y/N had fought against for so long, and now, he stood before him—a guardian of the Republic."surrender now" Anakin said firmly, his voice steady but laced with authority, "It's over. You have nowhere to go.""No way in hell," Y/N replied, tightening his grip on his blaster. "I'm not going down without a fight." He shifted his weight, readying himself for the inevitable confrontation."You're making a grave mistake" Anakin urged, but there was an edge of frustration in his tone. "You don't have to do this."Y/N's resolve only hardened. "Just shut up already. You and I both know I'm going to get away with this. Make it easy for the both of us and step aside."With that defiance igniting the atmosphere, Anakin leaped forward. The lightsaber sliced through the air with a sharp whistle as Y/N instinctively rolled out of the way, narrowly avoiding the deadly blade. He returned fire with his blaster, but Anakin deflected the bolt effortlessly, sending it ricocheting off into the distance."This isn't a game!" Anakin shouted, advancing as he swung his saber again. Y/N danced around the ledge of the bridge, trying to stay out of the lightsaber's range. He activated his damaged jetpack, propelling himself high into the air. The momentary thrill of elevation was dulled by the urgency of the confrontation.Y/N shouted mid-leap as Anakin's blade grazed his elbow, frustrated by Anakin's persistent attacks. From his vantage point above, he stood just out of reach but knew he couldn't maintain the aerial advantage for long. "But I won't back down!"As his feet touched back on the bridge, he pulled out his wrist comlink and activated the emergency beacon for his ship, the Lone Wolf. "Come on, come on!" he muttered, hoping against hope that it could arrive in time to make all the difference."We're not doing this!" Anakin's voice cut through the commotion, and he charged forward, determination etched on his face. With a swipe of his lightsaber, he carved through the air as Y/N leapt back once more, the searing blade barely missing him.Just then, the astromech droid attached to Anakin's starfighter, a small blue and white figure, whirred to life. It whizzed around the fighter, quickly reprogramming itself, and aimed its blaster cannons at Y/N. "Great," he muttered, his pulse quickening with the realization.Y/N barely had a moment to react before the droid fired a barrage of bolts aimed directly at him. In a panic, he activated his damaged jetpack again, but as he lifted into the air, the blasts struck true. The overloaded circuits crackled and sputtered, and with an explosive pop, the jetpack was gone, leaving him crashing to the ground with a sickening thud."Damn it!" Y/N cursed, grimacing as he rolled to try and get back onto his feet. The sudden weight of vulnerability sank in, and he felt the bite of defeat creeping in, but he steeled himself against it. With a quick kick, he pushed himself upright just as Anakin lunged forward, ready to strike. As Y/N pushed himself upright, adrenaline flooded through him, sharpening his senses. Anakin was swift, a blur of motion, and the Jedi's lightsaber flashed menacingly as he lunged toward Y/N. In a heartbeat, Anakin's blade cut through the air and struck Y/N across his unarmored shoulder. Pain erupted in a white-hot flash, and Y/N staggered back, gritting his teeth to suppress a gasp.Y/N shouted out, fueled by both fear and fury. Against the odds, he drew his vibroblade—a sleek, deadly weapon humming with energy. He hurled himself at Anakin, the vibrating blade singing through the air as he swung it forward with all his might. The duel commenced in a furious clash of light and sound. Anakin parried, their weapons connecting with a resonating clang that echoed across the bridge. Y/N fought with desperation, slashing and thrusting with the vibroblade as Anakin countered deftly, his blue lightsaber a bright shield against Y/N's strikes.Anakin stayed one step ahead, his movements precise and methodical. They wove around each other, sparks flying as Y/N's vibroblade collided with Anakin's lightsaber again and again. Every dodge and strike showcased Anakin's honed Jedi reflexes, but Y/N had survival as his only instinct. Anakin's stoic determination met with Y/N's chaotic aggression in a deadly ballet.Y/N aimed for Anakin's midsection, trying to break through his defenses, but Anakin spun away, his footwork fluid like water. In an instant, he retaliated—an upward slash aimed at Y/N's waist. The vibroblade barely missed, but Anakin's lightsaber caught him across the side, slicing through fabric and flesh. Y/N grunted, feeling a fresh wave of warmth seep into his clothes as he sidestepped the lethal strike."Enough!" Anakin commanded again, his voice imbued with authority that did little to shake Y/N's resolve.Y/N gritted his teeth, refocusing. He needed an escape, and fast. Thoughts of commandeering Anakin's Jedi Starfighter filled his mind—if he could reach it, he might just make it out alive. With a fleeting glance at Anakin, he made a break for it, sprinting toward the vessel. But just as he neared the sleek starfighter, a flurry of blaster bolts rained down from the astromech droid, which had whirred back into action, its blaster cannons trained on Y/N with unyielding precision. "No, no, no!" Y/N shouted, ducking and weaving through the deadly fire.Another barrage of blaster bolts erupted from the starfighter. Y/N ducked, but it was too late. Before Y/N could get a grip on the starfighter, laser fire erupted with a deafening screech. A bolt struck Y/N squarely in the stomach, and he was hurled off the edge of the bridge. The world spun violently as he plummeted into oblivion. Time seemed to slow as he watched the bridge above recede, the sky fading into a blur of colors. With a crash, he landed roughly on the balcony of a nearby building, the impact jarring his bones and forcing the air from his lungs. The moment Y/N hit the balcony, he barely had time to gather his bearings when, above him, Anakin leaped from the edge of the bridge. The Jedi's form cut through the air, his lightsaber poised for an overhead strike as he descended with confidence. Y/N's heart raced; he knew he had to act fast. With a surge of instinctive reflex, he stretched out his leg and kicked out Anakin's feet just as the Jedi landed. Anakin stumbled, his momentum sending him off balance for a brief second—a rare miscalculation for someone so skilled. Y/N seized the opportunity, darting towards the window that separated the balcony from the adjacent room. With a grunt, Y/N charged and slammed his shoulder into the glass. The window shattered with a satisfying crash, sending shards flying into the room beyond, as he tumbled through the now-open space. The adrenaline surged through his veins, providing clarity amidst chaos. He quickly rolled to his feet, pivoting to face the entrance he had just breached, ready for Anakin's arrival.Anakin, undeterred, moved through the broken window with a fierce resolve. He was relentless, ignited by the chase, his blue lightsaber ignited and blazing as he stormed into the room. Y/N barely had a moment to recover before they were engaged once more. The brief space—filled with scattered furniture and dim lighting—turned into a battlefield.Anakin struck, his blade whistling through the air. Y/N barely ducked in time, countering with a swift slice of his vibroblade. The two weapons met with a spark, and Anakin's expression darkened as Y/N's strike found purchase against Anakin's arm, cutting through fabric and drawing blood. The swift retaliation fueled Y/N's resolve, but the Jedi's fury was swift.Anakin spun into a retaliatory blow, but Y/N was quicker; he ducked low, sliding under a nearby couch to evade the lightsaber. In a daring move, Y/N pushed the heavy couch towards Anakin, flipping it up and over as the Jedi attempted to regain his balance. The furniture collided with him, pinning him down to the floor.Y/N's breathing was heavy as he reached for the wrist rocket hidden within his armory. He activated it, locking his gaze onto the struggling figure of Anakin beneath the couch. The tension was palpable; he could finally have his chance to end this chase. But Anakin would not go down easily. Drawing on the Force, he focused his energy, sheer determination emitting from him as he redirected the rocket's trajectory at the last moment. The missile veered off course, striking harmlessly against the far wall, but the force of its detonation sent shrapnel flying through the air—pieces embedding in Anakin's upper body."Enough!" Anakin roared, using the Force to lift the couch from his body effortlessly, the furniture flying aside as he stood up, blood trickling down from his wounds.Y/N's eyes widened in horror as Anakin locked onto him with a fierce intensity, and suddenly, it was a matter of life and death. Anakin lunged, determined to end the quarrel with lethal precision.Y/N ducked and dodged desperately, the energy of the room buzzing with tension. Anakin swung his lightsaber again and again, and Y/N fought with everything he had, rolling and weaving through the tight quarters. With every step, he remained acutely aware of his environment, searching for an escape as he evaded Anakin's strikes.Just as it seemed Anakin would land a blow, Y/N spotted the balcony—a chance to escape was within reach. Summoning his agility and courage, he lunged toward the open space, vaulted over the ledge, and in one fluid motion, launched himself off the balcony.Below, the Lone Wolf hovered just at the edge of the building, its engines roaring quietly in anticipation. Y/N landed on the ship's surface, rolling onto his feet just in time as he scrambled for the cockpit and activated the controls. The ship lifted off, propelling itself away from the combat zone and into the sprawling expanse of Coruscant.Behind him, Y/N saw the furious figure of Anakin standing on the balcony, lightsaber ignited, anger etched across his features as he watched the escape. Y/N knew he had narrowly avoided disaster, and as the ship soared into the currents of the city, a wave of relief washed over him.As Y/N caught his breath on the cockpit of the Lone Wolf, he quickly glanced around at the interior. The ship looked worse for wear—the smudged control panels and the flickering overhead lights made it clear that he had barely evaded Anakin's relentless pursuit. He hissed through gritted teeth as pain radiated from the shallow gash on his shoulder and the deeper bruise forming along his side from the impact of his fall."Droids, report!" he commanded, grimacing from the motion. From the ship's systems, two of his beleaguered astromech droids whirred to life, flashing their lights and emitting a series of beeps and whistles, each communicating the dire state of the Lone Wolf."Main hyperdrive is offline," one of the droids reported with a series of unfurling LED indicators. "Backup hyperdrive is damaged but can be restored with time.""Wonderful," Y/N muttered, feeling his frustration rise. It was always something. "Can you get it online quickly? We need to head to Mandalore for repairs before I can deal with Orn Free Taa's bounty." He winced again as he adjusted his position, trying to find comfort as he leaned against the seat, letting the droids do their work. The astromechs beeped in agreement, their efforts tireless as Y/N closed his eyes for a brief moment. He needed to regroup, to gather himself before calling the bounty hunter's guild again. Mandalore was far, but if the droids worked fast enough, the Lone Wolf could make it.The hum of the engines filled the silence—it was both calming and nerve-wracking. Y/N knew that even if the hyperdrive could be repaired, he had to tread carefully, as there were numerous Republic ships patrolling the space around Coruscant. Anakin would likely report the encounter, and with the clones deployed, they could be hot on his trail.Hours passed, during which Y/N took refuge in the medical bay, patching up his wounds using the ship's application module. He winced as he cleaned the cuts and applied a healing salve to the wounds, aided by the droids as they beeped and adjusted some of the ship's components."Get that backup drive going," he murmured to himself, trying to remain focused on his goal. He needed to escape this planet before they found him. Finally, after much tinkering and a couple of electrical whirs that sounded like victory from his droids, a triumphant beep filled the cockpit. "Backup hyperdrive online," one of the droids announced. Relief washed over Y/N, but it was short-lived."Great!" he exclaimed, rushing back to the controls, "Now let's get outta here!"A short flight out of the atmosphere and a relatively longer one to Mandalore gave Y/N enough time to finally finish healing. He arrived over Mandalore, and manually flew the Lone Wolf to his estate, landing in the hangar. Y/N exhausted, collapsed on his bed, but after a few hours, he was woken up by a message from his comlink. His Republic contact, Daxt Donevel, had a message for him. "My friend, I have a mission for you. A bodyguarding one..."
