Y/N stood aboard a Republic shuttle bound for the sprawling urban expanse of Coruscant. The trip had been uneventful, a welcome respite for the weary warrior, but the weight of his current assignment hung heavily in the air as they descended through the bustling heavens of the Core World.

Y/N had been briefed on his mission during the flight: provide protection for Senator Padmé Amidala as she prepared to deliver a delicate speech concerning the escalating refugee crisis attributed to the Separatist attacks in the Outer Rim. Unbeknownst to Senator Amidala, Y/N had recently been embroiled in a situation that made him uniquely qualified for the task—namely, orchestrating the assassination of Orn Free Taa, resulting in Palpatine's heightened security concerns. He'd never intended to draw this kind of attention to himself, especially not from the Republic.

As the shuttle touched down on the Senatorial District Spaceport, Y/N tightened the straps of his Mandalorian armor, a relic of both heritage and conflict. The armor gleamed even in the oppressive atmosphere, each dent and scratch a testament to battles fought and lost. He was the most heavily armed member of the security entourage, a fact that wore heavily on him as much as on their collective demeanor. While he was a seasoned warrior, his appearance did not inspire confidence among the others, who viewed him with a mix of intrigue and suspicion.

"Welcome to Coruscant," the pilot announced, and Y/N stepped onto the ramp with determination. The air buzzed with technology, voices, and a sense of urgency that permeated the thick atmosphere of politicking and power struggles. As he exited the shuttle, he quickly spotted his charge amidst the throng — Senator Padmé Amidala stood poised and confident, flanked by Captain Typho, her loyal escort, whose demeanor was intense and stern.

Among the crowd, Y/N's gaze flickered to Jar Jar Binks, who was waving his arms in animated discussion, and more worryingly, a young Jedi Padawan — Ahsoka Tano — who flitted between her fellow protectors. Y/N froze as their eyes met; it had only been a month since he captured her on Bespin, and the memories of that encounter weighed heavily on his conscience. He fervently hoped she wouldn't recognize him, though he was doubtful, since the stark image of the Mandalorian warrior was unmistakable.

"Senator Amidala!" Captain Typho called out as he approached, his authoritative presence forming a protective barrier around her. Y/N instinctively blended into the background, donning his role as a silent guardian.

"Y/N, isn't it?" Captain Typho turned sharply, his eyes narrowing as he took in Y/N's imposing figure. "You're late."

Y/N felt the flicker of tension as he responded with a nod. "I apologize, Captain. I assure you it won't happen again." The unspoken acknowledgment of his armor's intimidating nature delivered a weightier message, but Typho simply nodded, his expression still guarded.

"Good," Typho replied briskly, his voice steady. "We need to maintain a stable perimeter. Ahsoka, stay vigilant."

"Yes, sir!" Ahsoka replied, a bright smile blooming on her face that contrasted sharply with the gravity of the situation. Y/N felt a momentary flicker of warmth; her optimism was refreshing amid the suffocating tension.

As they moved toward the grand Senatorial building, Padmé walked over to Y/N, her warm expression providing a reassuring comfort in the face of suspicion from her entourage. "Thank you for being here, Y/N. I know your presence is an unusual choice, but I've heard good things about your skills."

"Senator," he replied, his voice steady yet modest. "I'll do everything in my power to ensure your safety."

Hours droned on as they awaited the arrival of the private starship that was supposed to take them to Alderaan. Y/N kept to the shadows, vigilant yet restless. He watched Ahsoka as she conversed with Typho, unaware of the strange bond they shared due to their tumultuous past. The crowded streets of Coruscant bustled outside, and the anticipation of imminent danger crackled in the air
