Akari's POV
I did watch Izuku's fight when i got home. I worried about Izuku hoping he was okay. I also did research on this Nana Shinura.
My phone started ringing during a break. It was Toshinori!
"Hey." I said answering.
"Midoriya has to have surgery." He told me. "Did you see his fight?"
"Yeah i saw him being an idiot but i didnt realize his injuries were that bad! I'm on my way!" I told him.
"Wait!" He said but I was already hanging up. I rushed to get ready and get to the school. By the time I was there I was crying.
"Izuku you idiot!" I said hugging him. I sobbed against his shoulder. They had just finished talking about One For All. I sniffled Standing up. I wacked him against the top of his head with my cast. "You could have killed yourself!" I said.
"Sorry!" Izuku said.
"Go watch the rest of the festival." Toshinori said. "It's not over yet."
I sighed leaning my head back. "I swear that kid is going to give me a heart attack." I said walking with Toshinori.
Me and Toshinori went to watch the rest of the fights. I smiled watching Todoroki's and Bakugo's match. Bakugo won but wasn't happy about it. At the awards ceremony he asked for my help so he carried me when he jumped down. I yelped hating it. All Might gave them the awards and congratulated them. After he'd move the next person I'd congratulated them again.
However i didn't talk to Bakugo not wanting to make him more upset. I just gave him a head nod. I stood next to the stand that Tokayami was on.
"Plus ultra." I said with no energy as everyone but All Might yelled it.
The next day we were in homeroom telling the kids that they got a two day break. I was worried about Iida especially with what Izuku told me. I told no one since it wasn't my place to tell.
I was excited to get the casts off. The day they were removed i spent the whole day boxing against a punching bag.
Soon it was the day to return. It was a very rainy day which sucked. I walked with Aizawa into class.
"Mr Aizawa! Ms Midoriya! You don't have your bandages anymore. That's good news." Tsu pointed out.
"The old lady went a little overboard in her treatment." Aizawa said.
"Anyway!" I said getting the class's attention. "We have a big class today on Hero Informatics." I said.
"You need codenames." Aizawa said. "Time to pick your hero identities." The class got way to excited. Aizawa growled and used his quirk. The kids sat back down so we could continue.
"This is related to the pro hero draft picks that we mentioned last time we were in class together." I said. "Normally, students don't have to worry about the draft yet. Not until their second or third year actually, but your class is different."
"In fact, by extending offers to first years like you, pros are essentially investing in your potential. Any offers can be rescinded if their interest in you dies down before graduation though." Aizawa said.
"Stupid selfish adults." Mineta said hitting his desk.
"So, what you're saying is, we'll still have to prove ourselves after we've been recruited." Hagakure said.
"Correct." I said. "Now. Here are the totals for those of you who got offers." I said and used the remote to show them the results.
"Despite these results, you'll all be interning with pros. Got it?" Aizawa said. "Even those of you who didn't get any offers."
"Oh, so we're all interning?" Izuku asked.
"Yes." I said crossing my arms leaning against the podium. "You already got to experience combat with real villains during the attack on the USJ facility. But it'll still be helpful to see pros at work." I said.
"Up close and personal, in the field. Firsthand." Aizawa said.
"And for that we need hero names!" Sato said.
"Things are suddenly getting a lot more fun!" Ochaco said.
"These hero names will likely be temporary, but take them seriously or..." Aizawa said.
"You'll have hell to pay later!" Midnight said showing up. I moved to the other side of the podium.
"What you pick today could be your codename for life." She said. "You better be careful or you'll be stuck with something utterly indecent."
"Yeah. She's got a good point." Aizawa said. "Midnight is going to have final approval over your names. It's not our forte." He said grabbing his sleeping bag.
"The name you give yourself is important. It helps reinforce your image and shows what kind of hero you wanna be in the future. A codename tells people exactly what you represent." I said.
"Take 'All Might' for example." Aizawa said. I sat down next to Aizawa leaning my head against the wall as i closed my eyes. Somehow i fell asleep.
I woke up in time for izuku's.
"Right. I used to hate it. But then something changed. I guess.." I heard making me realize what it was. "Someone taught me that it could have a different meaning. And that had a huge impact on how i felt. So, now i really like it! Deku. That has to be my codename!" I smiled.
"Well I like it, Deku." I said getting his attention. I groaned standing up.
"Now that everyone's decided on their hero names, we can go back to talking about your upcoming internships." Aizawa said. "They'll last for one week."
"As for who you'll be working with." I said getting their attentions away from Aizawa for a second.
"Those of you who were on the board will choose from among your offers." Aizawa said. "Everyone else will have a different list. You have a lot to think about."
"There are around 40 agencies across the country who've agreed to take on interns from your class. Each agency has a different specialty that its heroes focus on." I said. "Keep that in mind."
"Imagine you are Thirteen." Midnight said. "You'd want to choose a place that focuses on rescuing people, not fighting villains. Understand?"
"Think carefully before you decide." Aizawa said. "Turn in your choices before the weekend." He told the class.
"We've only got two days?" Sero asked as we were leaving.
"Yeah. So you should start now. You're dismissed." I said before Aizawa closed the door.
All might grabbed me at the end of the day running towards class 1A. I waved goodbye to Aizawa. Soon we arrived as Izuku opened the door.
"I am here in a bizarre position!" Toshinori said in his all might form.
"Ya think?" I asked sarcastically.
"Hi! Come with me a sec!" All Might said after Izuku said something.
"Oh no not again!" I said as All Might pulled me away again.
"I'll get straight to the point. You've recieved an offer from a hero who'd like to take you on." All Might said.
"Why did you steal me?" I asked and got no answer.
"Wait, seriously? Who?" Izuku asked.
"Yes. The hero's name is Gran Torino." All might said. "He taught at this school back in my day, but only for one year. In fact, the man was my homeroom teacher."
"No way!" I said. "He was one of my favorite heroes growing up!"
"He knows about One For All, as well. Actually, I suspect that's the reason he asked for you." He said.
"This guy sounds totally awesome!" Izuku said excited. "Huh? Wait. So, he knows how your quirk works, too? But how?" Izuku asked him.
"Gran torino was the sworn friend of my predecessor. He retired a long time ago, so i forget to count him among the people who know. I noticed that he was sweating and shaking.
"Are you okay?" I asked worried because he was genuinely freaking out.
