Ties × To The × Past
(Kizuna × To × Kako-tsuna)-
"You are a catalyst. Whether you end up in the hands of good or bad people, you will always be taken for granted. Remember that." A woman with resplendent silver hair and the same-colored eyes as hers spoke, a hand ruffling her hair.
Zion looked at her mother, "Would it be wrong if I wanted to freely live my life? Regardless of the risks, mother?"
"That depends." Replied the older woman, "If you can grow strong and guarantee you would never be hurt outside, maybe then, I'll consider."

As Zion exited the elevator, she immediately felt the weight of all eyes on her. Some were kind, but most were not. The tension in the room was palpable, and she could sense how most of them dismissed her at a glance.
She tugged at the hems of her dress. Am I overdressed? Zion exhaled slowly. Of course not. Confidence was one of her few luxuries, and she wasn't about to let their judgment chip away at it.
Ignoring abundant snickering, Zion walked towards the green creature dressed in formal attire. "My tag, please." she asked, putting forward a hand and walking away as soon as her number was given to her.
For someone who's a step closer to her goal, Zion was far from pleased. Given the amount of effort she put in tracking that person's whereabouts, and the money she's spent to make sure not a word of this reaches her mother's ear.
"Hi little miss, is it your first time taking the hunter exam?"
Zion's already sour mood worsened, glancing at the man who approached her. Not only is his face unpleasant, but his sweaty smell also irked the life out of her. It wasn't as if she didn't entertain people wanting to be her friend, but this man couldn't be a good person judging from the suspicious look he had on his face.
Not to mention his unkempt appearance, which was a real turn off to her, given that she valued people's looks much like their personality. She turned to leave when the said man grabbed her arm and pulled her back.
She grimaced, pulling back her arm and dusting her sleeves with a handkerchief. "Must you force me to rudely reject your lousy attempt to make acquaintances?" Zion asked, annoyance spiking, hardly keeping up the pleasant expression on her face she worked hard to retain.
"W-Well don't be such a killjoy. I just wanted to offer you a drink." The man responded, taking out a can of juice from his bag and presented it to her. "I'm Tonpa, a veteran. You're a newbie, aren't you?"
Zion exchanged glances between his face and the can, convincing herself not to knock him out before the exam started. "This is much appreciated but I'm not thirsty, so you can keep it." Throwing away the handkerchief she used, Zion found it best to get away from him.
But this man wasn't easily dismissed. Tonpa ran up to her and blocked the way. "I doubt getting here was easy, so you must be tired. Having a sip won't hurt, right?"
"And I guess having your teeth knocked out won't hurt, right?" Zion smiled sweetly, the corners of her mouth twitching. A huge contrast to her threatening words.
Tonpa backed away on reflex and scratched the back of his head. "No need to get violent. Just take it and you can drink it whenever you feel like it." He said, handing the juice once again.
