Scott remembered the second time he danced.

It wasn't truly the second time. It was most likely somewhere in the hundredth time. But he remembered it because it was the second time he danced and was truly happy.

The first time had been when he danced with his mother and brother during that lesson all those years ago.

It was during the Autumn ball Mythland held every 10 years.

Scott was happy. Well not really happy maybe, more so relieved.

After he had asked help from Pix, Katherine, a few years back things had started to get better.

Scott realised that the Council did in fact not have the best intentions in mind for him and Rivendell. Isolating him from most of the world, trying to remove any signs of the late King, Queen, and prince, withholding information from him, and much more.

The cyanett had gotten furious at the Elders once he realised what they were doing and limited their influence on him heavily by banning them from doing anything out of line and having them followed by guards most of the time.

The King hand-picked a few elves to be his new advisors. Scott didn't know them well in the beginning and asked Pix to help him pick them out since the older King had a good judge of character.

In the end, there were sadly a few things that couldn't be reversed. All the old paintings that once hung in the castle were nowhere to be found and some of the old castle staff Scott wanted to rehire to bring more life into the building were unable to come back.

It had taken a few years but Scott was starting to feel more free, and more like he knew how the world worked. He felt like was really starting to be a good King now.

At the beginning of the ball, there was a big banquet with all kinds of food like pies, soup, salad, pork, beef, and vegetables. When the banquet was finished the dancing part began and the royals and nobles in attendance started to mingle with each other.

Even with the growth Scott went through the past few years he still felt slightly anxious in large gatherings and together with two elven nobles that also happened to be a part of his advisors group he stayed to the side of the large ballroom. Chatting away with them while also keeping an eye on the room to see if anything interesting happened.

Sue him! Scott liked being nosy sometimes.

It was well into the late hours when someone approached the small group of elves.

"Are you free for a dance?" A voice asked behind Scott and he turned around with a surprised face. Trying to hide that the person had scared the crap out of Scott with their sudden appearance.

'The person' turned out to be Emperor Jimmy.

He had a large smile on his face and had his hand outstretched towards Scott.

Still caught off guard by the sudden request, the King pointed at himself as if to ask. 'Do you mean me?'. Jimmy gave him a nod and before Scott could say anything the drink he was holding was taken out of his hand by one of his advisors and the other gave him a small shove towards the blond.

"Yeah, sure." Scott was able to mutter out as he took Jimmy's hand.

He was immediately surprised at how soft it felt. The elf had expected the other's hands to be rougher since he did so much physical work around his kingdom but Jimmy's hand felt smooth.

"Are you enjoying the party?" Jimmy asked and Scott was pulled out of his thoughts by the question.

"I wouldn't call it a party, it's a ball but yes. I'm enjoying it." Scott answered.
