A Beautiful Home

6 1 2

A little girl approached me
And gave me a piece of paper.
'My Dream' was written on it.
I unfold to read it.

"A big house for my whole family
To live together happily "

I chuckled as I read the note.
" Such an innocent wish", I thought.

I look at the girl's eyes
Which holds a number of dreams.
Those innocent eyes
Staring back at me.

I swallow the truth
As I looked at the little girl.
I didn't want those innocent eyes
To tear up.

Who will tell her that
Her dream house could never become a home.

It will never become a home because
There will be two kitchens.
It will never become a home because
Many people will just pretend.

Many will leave,
Many will don't care.
Few will stay
And many will be jealous.

These people are not strangers.
They are those who pretend.

Pretend to be close,
Pretend to care
But, when you will need them
They won't be there.

I told the little girl
That her wish will come true.
But it won't be this big
As you can get lost in it.

It will be big enough
For her parents and sister.
I promise ,
I will give them a home
They deserve.

I gaze in the mirror one last time,
Saw the little girl, all grown up.

I took the pen and rewrite her dream,
"A beautiful home for my family"
