There was a flash of blue light, and as The Doctor blinked, he felt his body free fall for a moment. Then, his shoes were no longer on the squeaky, solid ground of the conference room of the Shadow proclamation, all in a blink of an eye.
His trainers, already dirty, squelched in a puddle of mud. He shivered as he felt the chill of the station turn to ice, goosebumps trickling across his exposed arms.
He wiped his eyes, as the light from the station evaporated into nothingness. A cool, sweeping, windy darkness arose, which whistled through the air, pushing the Doctor into the new street he stood on.
He found himself in a darkened street square, in what felt like a pitch black night, a cool air breezing across his face. He looked up. No stars, just a simple, black canvas of a sky, an endless void above him. He looked forward, and was surrounded by four small black huts, made of what looked like deep black bamboo. They each had triangle rooves with doors made out of uneven cuts of blackened wood planks.
He heard the sound of voices, and could see a pair of hooded figures whispering, and then slowly, they disappeared into the darkness.
The Doctor turned and could see a glow in the distance between the huts. He walked forwards, his shoes squelching in deep, thick jet-black mud, and went down a wettened path surrounded by black, giant coal-like rocks. As he walked further, the path came to a sudden halt, and then, the glow of light became immense.
The path came to an end off the side of a preciously high hill, and below, a spider-web of lights gleamed further then the Doctor could see. Just beyond that, he could see the curved horizon of the circular and bumpy comet, floating in the nothingness. Just above that, the corner of the universe.
The corner of all of reality, and the Doctor stood right below it.
"The Dawn comet!" he cried. "The biggest ...pleasure city in the universe!"
Each web of light in front of him was a marvellous display of boisterously big and bold buildings, glowing with flashing lights, billboard and illumined signs, like the web had the fairy lights of a Christmas tree. They all gleaming off a wide array of small, different shaped buildings, all with different words shining in the void.
"HOTEL" One building said "ROOMS FOR CHEAP"
"CRYSTAL CASINO AND RESORT – OPEN - 24/7" Another building glowed, "JIMAXIA, LIAR'S DICE, TRUXICAN ROULETTE – BAR OPEN NOW."
And as The Doctor found a path between some more of the old bamboo huts, he found a flight of stone stairs, built into the hill, leading down to the glow of the streets below, and soon, he reached street level. He found an alleyway, squeezed between two buildings, and went towards the open.
As The Doctor popped out, and found himself in the main avenue, the beating heart of the web of light.
The signs on every building were suddenly in his face, and did not stop, constantly coming to him as he walked along. He smiled as he walked through the street, wishing he had three more pairs of eyes to see everything around him.
"THEATRE CARNIVAL – CIRCUS MAXIMUS – REAL POWER CONVERTERS."
The Doctor gazed around him, and found a mighty clump and diverse crowd, a smattering of different races surrounded him, along with the noise of the languages of the universe ringing and echoing along the street.
He passed a pair of skeletal like androids, with bright purple eyes, accompted by a pair of Zocci, short, and head like the shell of a bright red Conker, dressed in overalls.
He then passed a pair of grey-skinned humanoids, with necks the length of an elephant's trunk, eyes the size of golf balls, with no noses, dressed in brown robes.
