I'll Fight For You

Chapter 33

Anna thought the swimming lesson was going to be sweet and playful, but no, Harry was serious about teaching her, he was not playing around, which was good because it helped her focus. After about an hour she was able to breaststroke a few inches and float. They took a break on the rocks, sunbathing and chatting. After resting for a while, Harry stood up.

"It's time to play now," he said and dove in the water on the deeper end. Anna sat up and waited for him to emerge. He emerged shortly with a huge smile.

"Jump in!"

"What?!" Anna exclaimed.

"Jump in, you need to let go of your fear."

She stood up and put her hands on her waist looking down at him.

"You really believe that one lesson has given me that much confidence?"

"No, but I won't let anything happen to you. Trust me."

"I'm likely to go down like a rock if I jump in there." She sat down and crossed her legs. "I'll just watch you from here."

Harry smiled and went under. He appeared next to the rock where she was sitting and pulled himself out of the water.

She looked up at him as he stood before her.

"You didn't have to come out," she said easily.

"I know, but you left me no choice."

She could tell from his tone that he was planning to push her in the lake.

"No," she said, sprung up and started running, Harry in pursuit.

James had just come back with Harry's requested drinks. He was putting them in a cabin when he heard screams and laughter coming from outside.

He looked through the window and saw Harry chasing Anna from a distance. She was screaming playfully; Harry had the happiest grin on his face. He could not help but smile too, they were like teenager's.

He felt joy seeing him that happy, it was like watching his son finally find love after many years of meaningless sex escapades. Harry tackled Anna to the ground, they rolled over the grass, Harry finally pinning Anna down. James looked away right before Harry kissed Anna. When he looked back, Harry was carrying Anna in his arms walking back to the lake. They soon disappeared to the private side of the lake where they had been swimming.

They swam and played around the lake until late evening when they decided to go to the cabin. It looked different inside. It was renovated and redecorated. The wood was polished. There was a three-seat couch, and a small coffee table in front of it. A new two seat dining table, with flowers in a vase. New small cabinet with new China, wine, and whiskey bottles. It looked nice and cozy. She stood at the door in awe.

"Now that I have an excuse to make you leave the house with me, I thought.... well.... we might as well make this cabin our on little get away home," Harry said lighting the candles as it was already getting dark inside the cabin.

"What about the caretaker?" She asked.

"I built him another cabin a little farther from here. I thought about building us a new one, but this one holds a special place to me. It was the first time I felt a real connection from you."
