Chapter 4: Closed Room

My mouth seems to malfunctioned, that I cannot be able to utter a single word for a second. The wind once blew softly and it somehow reminds me to take a deep breath–only to realize that I wasn't breathing after hearing her voice.

Para na naman akong nahuling kriminal because of my clumsiness. I scan the whole room, only to see nothing but wide space in the middle.

I can't see any signs of her.
Am I being delusional right now?
Or it's just in my head?

I am still looking around when my eyes has landed to the hung frames again. So that's where she lies all the petals that she picked.

But what's the deal with those?
I have no idea, but I know for sure, it have a huge importance to her.

I shrugged my shoulders when I hear nothing again. Wala na ulit nagsalita sa kalagitnaan ng pagsilip ko sa kwarto. And just when I'm about to step one of my feet down, something interrupts me again.

“It's that a proper act of invading someone's space?”

Oh geez.

It wasn't hallucination, I guess.

I'm doomed.

“Uh.. I just came across here, unintentionally. I promise!” I said to the empty room, still looking where she is. I might look talking to my imaginary friend here.

“And..I'm sorry. I swear, I only goes up here because of the vines in your wall, and didn't you find those very inv–”

“Invasive. Yes.” She interrupts.

My decision to already go down in the ladder is a hundred percent. I could clearly sense that there's something awful that will happen again if I wouldn't.

I remained silent, with my left foot slowly putting in the lower steps, I silently wish that the universe will help me out in this situation with Lady Evergreen.

“Oh geez..” I whisper in a very quiet tone when I almost tripped again. When does this ladder became this too long?!

“Go up here, Le-vayn. Take this as a gratitude for getting rid of those years-old vines. It will be a headache for Veinstone if something worse happened. ”

With the pressure still hovering in my system, everything seems to stop when I look up once again and saw another sight of her again.

The morning sunlight is almost blinding, but her monotone face blocks it somehow. She's looking to me with her right hand extending, just to offer me a help. A help? Oh my strange universe, what a way of helping me.

“Come on, my hand will get numb.” She firmly said, still looking straight to my soul.

My hand seems to have its own mind that I automatically reach and hold her hand. My feet followed and carefully create steps upward again, still not breaking my confused stares to her with my heart continues to pound loudly.

Everything seems to be back in normal state when I finally landed in her room. The time wasn't slow now and everything started to sink in now!

Geez, Ely. You are actually inside Lady Evergreen's room now.

Her bed is just beside the wall where the window was placed. Bagay na hindi talaga mapapansin ng sinumang magtatangkang pumasok sa kwarto niya. The edges of her bed were made by material of steel, but also like a mirror that it could reflect what's outside the window. It's an odd yet advantageous thing.

I blinked twice and was about to scratch my cheeks when she leave in front of me. I know for sure that she's thinking how weird I am right now.

I took a deep breath and faced her.
