(Adeline,s POV)

I sat behind my sleek, mahogany desk, gazing out the floor-to-ceiling windows of my office. The city skyline stretched out before me, a reminder of my accomplishments. As CEO of Aurora ventures, I'd fought tooth and nail for every inch of success.

My phone buzzed, shrill in the silence. I answered, my voice firm and authoritative. "Adeline Gray."

But it wasn’t a business call. It was a whisper. A soft, raspy voice that send a shiver down my spine. "You’re not as safe as you think, Adeline."

I spun around, my eyes scanning the room. But I was alone. The voice seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

"Who is this?" I demanded, my voice steady.

The line went dead.

I took a deep breath and turned my attention back to my computer, where an email had  just popped up on my screen. The subject line read: " I'm watching you Adeline."

My blood boiled as I realized the email must have been sent during the phone call. The audacity of the anonymous caller knew no bounds - who dared to breach my digital security? I was going to find out who they were and make them regret ever crossing me."
