Invitation in Blood

In shadows deep where secrets lie,

A cut reveals a whispered sigh,
An invitation etched in red,
To the ball where fate and love are wed.

A kingdom's king with heart concealed,
Plans a choice that fate has sealed,
Three lives to end, a love restored,
A chance to mend, a soul adored.

His true love lost to fate's cruel hand,
By mother's decree, a heart unmanned,
Unworthy deemed, in status low,
A fatal choice to end the woe.

Yet in the dark, a twin awaits,
A mirror image of love's fate,
Separated, sold, by life's cruel jest,
Her truth hidden, she's put to test.

At Nevermore, where masks are worn,
A queen's crown waits in deceit's scorn,
For one to rise and take her place,
In love's cruel dance, a hidden grace.

With blood as ink, the tale unfolds,
A story of hearts, in secrets told,
For in the ball's grand, fateful sweep,
The truth of love and death will leap.
