“She wore a smile like a loaded gun” Atticus
Honey
I was ready to call it quits for the day I had been at my bakery working since six in the morning all this week and I was exhausted but that’s what came with owning your own business not that I was complaining at all I loved my bakery I had dreamed of owning one since I was a little girl, now I was a grown twenty-five year old women running a successful bakery. I took culinary classes as well as got my BBA so I could make sure I knew exactly what I was doing. This wasn’t going to just be a job. I had planned on making this my career. My business had been up and running for six months, and so far, everything was working out, and I was bringing in a very good profit. I was very proud of myself. I was the last one in the shop ten more minutes, and it would be closing time. The ding of the bell drew my attention.

“Welcome to Sweet Like Honey, I’ll be right with you” I called from the back I wiped my hands on my apron to dry them before I headed out the front of the store a man stood bent over looking inside the case so I couldn’t see his face clearly I only saw his black dress pants, black dress shoes and long sleeves dark purple silk button and the top of his head which were covered in thick, silky black curls.
“ Ciao, how may I help you?” I asked once I reached him he  stood upright giving me a full look at him oh mio dio I thought my oh my he was very handsome he had golden brown skin, full sensual lips, and beautiful hazel eyes  framed with long thick lashes that women paid for. He wore his beard neatly trimmed and just long enough to grab he stroked the hair on his chin and he gazed at me for some reason it made me have this feeling of awareness a blush crept up my face under his gaze the fact he made me feel this unsettling awareness irked me I kept a smile on my face I didn’t want to chase off a customer or risk a negative review besides he hadn’t done anything wrong technically I  supposed I thought petuntlly like a child or a brat my friend Isabella would say.
“ Hola señorita” he said, his voice had a deep, resonant rumble, rich with the warmth of the Spanish sun, each word  spoken with a sensual drawl. “This is a lovely bakery “I was pleased with his seemingly genuine compliment.
“Grazie, do you see anything here you would like?” I asked, gesturing to the various pastries in the displays he smiled.
“Si, I certainly see something in particular I would really love to have” he said, never taking his eyes off mines he couldn’t possibly mean me. I cleared my throat.
“Sure I’ll bag whatever you like right up” I glanced over at the honey pot shaped clock on the wall it was five fifty five I had somewhere to be by eight pm tonight and I still needed to go home and get ready but I wouldn’t rush him he could turn into a possible repeat customer and he could end up telling other people and bring even more business.
“What would you recommend?” He asked he had a mischievous look in his eyes. Hmm, what was he thinking? I wondered.
“How about *a Honey panna cotta?” I suggested when he looked back at me with curiosity and confusion. I explained “It’s a creamy Italian dessert made with sweetened milk, gelatin, and honey. It’s typically served chilled with a fruit topping or a drizzle of honey whichever you’d prefer”  I took a deep breath sheesh did I really just ramble all that in one go sometimes I spoke fast and had to slow down but once I was trying to explain something I didn’t stop until I was sure I explained to the best of my ability.
“That sounds delicioso” he murmured looking at the desserts I pointed to while I had explained “ I’ll have two with honey and two with strawberry por favor” he reached in his pocket to take his wallet out.
“Excellent choice. The ones with honey are really good” I told him as I carefully boxed and bagged his pastries up before I rang him up.
“It’s going to be thirty five even please” he handed me a fifty before picking up his bag I felt a tingle when his hand touched mines I yanked my hand away like it was on fire wow really nice instead of being offended he gave me a slow sensual smile that made lower parts of me tingle as well.
“Keep the change Adios hermosa”  with one final look he headed out I rushed around the counter to lock the door leaning back against I pressed my hand to chest my heart was racing it’s just from running over here I assured myself not from the annoying, sexy stranger who I’m sure I wouldn’t see again anytime soon I headed to the back to gather my stuff up so I could head out I had plans tonight that would take my mind all off him and the best part I had my assistant manager coming in so I was off for the whole day I could sleep in on that happy note I grabbed my stuff and practically skipped out the door.
