She's not at lunch. That means only one thing.
Worried, I lean against the polished walls of the McLaren motorhome. Usually, I work in the business center, but today I decided to hang around here after my break. When the man I'm waiting for shows up at the other side of the paddock, I stand attention. My presence near the motorhome must give me away, because when Lando spots me, his posture locks up.
I watch him say something to his PT and media manager, who both nod and head in another direction. The paddock is crowded, but Lando makes it to where I'm standing without too many interruptions.
"What's going on?"
"I need your help. Do you know a place here on the paddock where only a selected few have access to?"
Lando's eyes darken, his jaw tight. "Is this about Kaya? Is she okay?"
"Please don't ask questions?" I plead. Kay will never forgive me if I tell him. I already told Ella, and lord knows I'll never hear the end of it.
His knitted brows tell me he's weighing my offer.
"My private quarters. Only I have access."
"Can I send her there?"
A long silence stretched between us. "Send her to me."
I asses the guy who is notorious for being kind. I've experienced first-hand how kind he is. My instincts tell me to thrust him. I'm here already anyway.
I sigh but nod my head.
