I wake up with a headache, again. I would have never thought that the off time during these weekends away could get so intense. I quickly take a shower and after I have some coffee I feel like a human being again. I take the emergency stairs to Menno's floor, since the elevators won't give me access, and knock on the diva's door. This is our routine. We go out, we have fun, our paths split at some point in the evening, and we reconvene in the morning and update the other on any news.
"You're up early for being out all night."
My heartbeat picks up speed and I feverishly catch the butterflies that are taking flight in my stomach.
I turn around to find a familiar curly head smiling at me from the opposite side of the hallway. Lando's personal coach, Jon, is with him.
"Who says I went to bed at all?" I joke leaning against Menno's door.
I yelp in surprise when I fall backwards into the room that was now opened by Menno. He grunts when he prevents my dumb ass from smacking to the floor.
"Good morning" I smile sheepishly at the other curly head that is currently rocking a stellar frown.
"Kay babe, do you know what time it is?"
"Time for coffee and gossip?"
Snickers from the hallway catch our attention and I forgot about Lando for a second who is still watching the show with an amused look.
I scramble up from the floor.
"See you two on the track?" Lando asks both of us. Menno looks surprised, but I smile and nod my head.
The lights must be playing tricks on me because I could swear, I see something glint in Lando's eyes. He nods before heading out with Jon, a small smile on his lips.
