Tsuneko sat on her bed, clutching her knees to her chest trying to ground herself. But the familiar tightening in her chest began to rise. Her heart racing as she stared at the walls of her dimly lit room.

“Breathe, Just breathe,” she murmured to herself but the words felt hollow. The memories haunting her again. She could feel the room closing in, the air thick and suffocating. someone's is whispering in his head the words she don’t want to hear. she felt the walls closing in tighter.

“Not again,”  She felt the weight pressing her down. She closed her eyes willing herself to escape but it was no use. She felt as if she is drowning in a sea of darkness.

Her fingers twitched, reaching for something on her bedside table, "SLEEPING PILLS".

It's almost past midnight. Dazai felt an unsettling tension in the air. Something wrong that tugged at his instincts. With a furrowed brow he stepped out of his apartment and made his way toward Tsuneko's place. He hesitated for a moment at her door knocking softly, but received no response.

"Maybe she's deep asleep," he thought, glancing at the sky. "It's late." Yet, an uneasy feeling bothering him, urging him to take action. With a sigh he resorted to his usual hairpin technique opening the lock without a second thought.

He stepped inside flicking on the lights. His heart dropped a beat as he saw tsuneko laying on the floor, her hair covering her face, an ominous stillness surrounding her. In her hand, she is clutching something tightly. Dazai can recognize it at once - sleeping pills. He rushed to her side his mind racing with dread.

"Tsuneko!" he called, his voice laced with urgency. For a moment he feared the worst. But then she slowly opened her eyes. breathing heavily as she looked up at him.

"Dazai?" she murmured, confusion clouding her gaze. He scooped her into his arms, cradling her gently.  carefully placing her on her bed.

Dazai sat on the edge of her bed, watching her as she took slow, steady breaths. He thought of what he can do to lift her spirits.

"Hey" he said softly, a gentle smile forming on his lips. "How about we get some fresh air? I know a place that always makes me feel better."

Tsuneko blinked at him, still a bit dazed but curious. "Where?"

"Just come with me" Dazai replied, standing up and extending his hand to her. After a moment's hesitation, she took his hand, allowing him to help her up.

Dazai guided her to the way to the rooftop. The cool night air greeted them. Dazai led her to the edge. city lights twinkling like stars beneath them. The moon hung high in the sky casting a silvery glow over the city. Dazai leaned back, propping himself up on his elbows.

"Look at that," he said, gesturing to the moon. "Isn’t it beautiful? Just like you."

Tsuneko chuckled softly, her eyes sparkling with a hint of amusement. "You always know what to say, don’t you?"

Dazai shrugged playfully. "It's my secret talent."

She leaned against the railing, her gaze drifting to the sky. "And here I thought we came here to commit a double suicide."

Dazai turned to her, his gaze intense yet soft. "I just wanted to see the moon with the person I love."

Tsuneko felt her cheeks heat up. His words making her really happy that all off her anxieties began to fade.“You know, I’ve always felt like the moon is a bit like you. Mysterious, captivating… and it lights up the darkest nights.”

“You really think so?” He smiled.

“Absolutely.”

As they talked their hands on the railing brushed against each other. Dazai intertwined his fingers with hers. Tsuneko's heart raced but she didn’t pull away. Instead, she leaned a little closer, feeling the warmth radiating from him.

“Thank you for being here” she whispered, her voice barely above a breath.

His eyes sparkled—with sincerity. And for a moment, the world around them faded. It was just the two of them, sharing a moment that felt both frail and profound.
