JANHVI'S POV
The room was filled with a heavy silence, only the steady beeping of the machines could be heard. I was lost in my thoughts, knowing that my decision would have a profound impact, especially on Yash. When I looked at everyone, I could see the fear in their eyes. They were waiting anxiously, hoping for an answer that would ease their pain. I knew that whatever I decided would shatter Yash.
Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath and said, "I will go with the operation. I want to take the risk, even if it's just a 10% chance."
Papa came near, his voice full of concern. "Are you sure, beta? You know the risks, right?"
I nodded. "Papa, even if I don't do the operation, I will get paralyzed. So, I'm willing to take the chance."
I turned my gaze to Yash. He stood there silently, as if he had already anticipated my decision. His eyes were filled with unspoken emotions, but he didn't say a word.
Everyone nodded in quiet acceptance of my choice. I then looked at my brothers and asked softly, "Bhai, can I talk to Yash in private?"
Varun smiled faintly, nodded, and led everyone out of the room, leaving just Yash and me.
Yash was standing behind me, and I couldn't see him properly without straining my neck. "Yash, come and sit here. I can't see you. My neck is hurting," I said gently.
Without hesitation, he came and sat beside me. I could see the tension on his face. "Are you angry with me?" I asked softly.
Yash looked at me, his voice filled with suppressed emotions. "If I say yes, will you change your decision?"
I smiled at him, though it pained me to do so. "Yash, I want to live with you happily. If that means taking a chance, I'm ready. Even if the doctors gave me just 1%, I would have taken it. And here I have 10%. It's not much, but it's still something."
Yash nodded, but the fear in his eyes hadn't lessened. "I don't know, Sunshine. I can't bear the thought of you going into that operation room. Just thinking about it makes me sweat."
I reached out for his hand. "Raj, we've planned a future together. We wanted to travel, to explore the country hand in hand. We dreamed of walking on beaches, watching the sunset together with our future children. I want that life with you, a happy life, not one where you're constantly worrying about me or taking care of me because I can't."
He squeezed my hand tightly, his voice trembling. "No, Sunshine. I want to be with you no matter what. If it means you can't walk, then I'll push you in a wheelchair around those beaches. We'll still have those sunsets. As long as you're with me, I don't care where we are or what we can't do."
Tears filled my eyes as he continued, "And about children... We can adopt if you want. If not, we'll find another way. Technology is so advanced now; we can store your eggs and go for surrogacy. Even if you're paralyzed, we can still have a family, and we can still be happy. We'll make every moment together memorable, Sunshine. But I can't imagine even a single moment without you."
His words broke me. Tears streamed down my face as I realized the depth of his love. Even knowing the risks, the pain, and the lifelong consequences, Yash wanted to stay with me. Most people would run at the thought of a partner being paralyzed, but Yash? He was ready to face everything, to live this life with me, no matter what.
