Rosa was immediately dragged to the nurse's office and had multiple bandages covering the cut while Matty was ranting to her.
"Don't get her into trouble? Don't get her into trouble, mother said and now she is going to kill the both of us once she sees that cut." Matty exclaimed as he ran his finger through his gelled hair. "I can't believe you asked for that challenge on the first day!"
"It wasn't expected!" Rosa defended. "I thought he would go to the cheek!"
"The cheek?!" Matty raged. "He's a pirate for crying out loud!"
"Mr Hood!" the nurse scolded. "I have other patients I need to take care of, and you are not helping so it's either you both take the argument outside, or you wait outside."
Matty growled before taking a seat next to Rosa on the bed. He turned to face Rosa, but her hair was covering her face although he knew she had an unreadable expression which usually meant she is upset.
"You're this upset in me?" Matty asked but Rosa didn't reply. "I just did what mother told me to do."
"Funny, back home you used to side with me in everything." Rosa scoffed. "Even if it is against mother's rules."
Matty sighed and combed his hair with his hand. "Listen, even though I was a complete jerk back there...the truth was that I was worried. You can't keep putting yourself in danger even if your goal was to do the impossible, you have many people who cares about you and needs you."
"I know." Rosa confirmed, looking at her brother. "And I'm sorry that I didn't understand what you were trying to do. Please don't hate me because I'm insane."
Matty looked at Rosa but then chuckled. "Hate you? That's a strong word." He wrapped his hand around hers and grinned. "You're my baby sister, who else would always help push my limit? Who else would cover my flank? I love you too much to hate you."
Rosa smiled in relief and replied. "I love you too, Matty."
The twins hugged each other and smiled in relief. "Promise me you won't get into this much trouble?"
"I will if you promise to never think that just because you are three minutes older does not mean you could baby me."
They pulled apart and clasped their hands with matching scars together before turning it into a pinkie promise.
"Hood!"
"Yes?" The twins asked before turning to each other. "Oh sorry, did you mean him/her?"
"The girl." the coach replied. "May I have a word?"
"If you want to speak to her, you'll have to speak with me too." Matty replied.
The coach sighed and stood at the end of the bed. "Young lady, never in my years of teaching have I seen such disobedience, I don't know why I agreed with your challenge, but I appreciate your determination. You have lots of integrity and commitment in you and that is what the fencing requires."
"Well good luck with that because the final score was tied so I'm keeping my word to not step into the room again even if I didn't win or lose." Rosa shrugged, turning to Matty.
"Oh, but where are you going? We already have a designer making your suit as we speak." The coach replied.
"Wait..." Matty looked at Rosa to the coach. "Does that mean that...she's in?"
"In and promoted as co-captain." The coach announced.
"Then who is..." Rosa paused before frowning. "Oh, the other one is him?"
"He was taught to fight with a sword since he was a child, so did his father and so on." the coach explained, holding out a bright blue armband with the Merlin Academy crest on it. "Welcome to the team, Miss Hood."
Rosa smiled but shook her head as she faced Matty. "Listen, I promised I wouldn't get into trouble but-"
"I'll allow it," Matty said and leaned closer with a smirk. "Just because I'm older doesn't mean I could baby you."
Rosa chuckled at the statement and nodded to the coach, holding the armband in her hands.
"You can count on me."
The Hood siblings walked out of the nurse's office hand-in-hand when Charming rushed up to them.
"Matheus!" Charming called. "Yo, your sister is amazing! She challenged Hook in the best thing he can do! I don't think anyone has ever done that before and that makes her braver than I am and I am a prince, she is such a daredevil."
"Aw, that's sweet." Rosa smiled and Charming flushed in embarrassment as Matty laid a protective arm around her. "I'm Rosalinda, Matheus' twin sister."
"I'm Charming." Charming smiled, giving her a small bow. "Matheus' alchemy partner."
"So, I've been told, how do you do, Charming?" Rosa asked politely. "Matty and I are headed to lunch now."
"Well, I was going to ask the both of you if you would like to join me and the gang?" Charming offered.
"With me, yes. With my sister, I don't think so." Matty frowned.
"Oh, don't worry. It's not the boys, I'm in a smaller friend group with Aladdin, his girlfriend and two girls, Bridget and Ella." Charming explained.
"Well then that, I'll accept." Matty agreed. "With JJ, too!"
"Great!" Charming cheered giving the twins a charming smile. "Follow me!"
The twins followed Charming to the Lunch Hall, but Matty had one small problem that burdened his mind as he looked at Rosa to see the bandaged wound on her neck.
I better not see that boy with her Matty thought as his eyes darkened at idea. If I see her with that boy, I'll show that boy a face of ruin
