The expression on the prince's face was priceless.

Their father never smiled at them like that, nor did he acknowledge their skills. Yet this little girl—sigh. It was clear that she had struck a chord with him.

Forget it. There's no point in arguing with an unknown girl who's managed to capture the attention of royalty.

After dinner, the queen and king decided to take Rara for a stroll around the palace garden, hoping the fresh air would aid digestion. The garden was a lush, sprawling expanse of greenery dotted with vibrant flowers and intricately manicured hedges. The centerpiece of the garden was the Tree Lamp, an impressive structure that resembled a colossal, ancient tree. At night, it bathed the surroundings in a warm, golden light.

"Chihara, right?" the king's voice cut through the tranquil evening air.

Chihara stiffened at the sound of her name. It was the first time the king had used it, and his tone suggested he had something important to say.

"Yes, Your Majesty," she responded, trying to keep her voice steady.

"It's been a week since you've been accompanying us, and I've noticed that you've been deliberately trying to get something from us, haven't you?" The king's gaze was direct, his expression unreadable.

They had stopped beneath the Tree Lamp, which cast a soft, golden hue over them. The warm light made the surrounding shadows dance, creating an almost ethereal atmosphere.

Rara gulped, her hands tightly clenched at her sides. The king's question made it clear that there was no longer any reason to hide her true intentions.

"Yes, Your Majesty."

The king nodded thoughtfully, while the queen let out a weary sigh. Her eyes, a shade of deep blue, reflected the soft light from the lamp as she rubbed her forehead, evidently resigned to the situation.

"Your Majesty, please allow me to learn how to communicate with the fog fairies from the queen." Rara clasped her hands together and bowed deeply, her posture a perfect picture of earnest respect.

The king's demeanor shifted slightly; he seemed to be weighing his options. He stared into the distance, his gaze lost in the inky darkness of the night, as if searching for answers in the stars.

It was undeniable that the nations had long awaited the arrival of the Chosen Lady. They believed she would play a crucial role in the future.

The human world was currently at peace, as was the supernatural realm. However, the king knew that peace was fragile. There was always the possibility of betrayal, and a single traitor could disrupt the balance of power. It was better to address these threats before they could escalate.

Interestingly, the fog fairies had always been allies. They were said to follow the Gods' will, causing no trouble for the kingdoms. Yet, the king wondered about this young girl before him.

What could she, so young and seemingly inexperienced, offer? What made her the Chosen Lady?

Apart from her cheerful demeanor and strategic mind, what else did she possess? Besides her skill with a bow, what more could she contribute?

The king didn't have the answers, but his curiosity was piqued. If she could become a powerful ally, it would not only ensure the safety of his kingdom but also secure his family's future. An alliance with her could protect them from any resurgence of supernatural threats.

Compared to humans, the supernatural beings were fewer in number, but if they united, they could be formidable. His wife, Queen Lustia, was exceptionally skilled. As a princess from a fallen kingdom—a realm that had been destroyed by humans due to its mysterious aura—she had the ability to communicate with beasts through her mind's waves. She was also a descendant of a vampire lineage, a trait inherited by their son, Prince Xavier.

They lived by one rule: they could feed on humans but must never kill them. This delicate balance was crucial to maintaining peace.

The king's thoughts shifted briefly to the queen's nocturnal habits before he refocused on the matter at hand.

He glanced at the queen with a sly smile before turning his attention back to Rara.

"Fine. You can learn, but under one condition."

Rara's eyes brightened with hope. This was the opportunity she had been waiting for.

The queen, her expression skeptical, turned to the king. "Your Majesty, what is this condition?"

"First, in the future, if I require assistance, you must offer it."

Rara considered this carefully before responding, "I will help, but it will depend on my capabilities at the time."

"Second, you must pledge loyalty to Haguar's Kingdom."

Rara nodded confidently, "No problem."

"Lastly, you are not allowed to fall in love with any of the princes," he said with a stern expression.

The queen, surprised, pulled him aside with a disapproving look. "What do you mean by that? Do you think so highly of your sons that you're worried she might fall for them? Don't you want her to become part of our family?"

The king's heart swelled with a mixture of pride and possessiveness. "My sons are indeed good-looking, much like I was in my youth. Of course, I would be pleased to have her as our daughter. But if she marries one of them, she might prioritize them over us."

The queen pondered this for a moment, then reluctantly agreed, returning to their previous position.

Rara, momentarily taken aback, let out a soft chuckle. "What if it's a guard?"

The king's eyebrows shot up in surprise, and his alertness heightened.

'A mere guard could catch her interest? This cannot be allowed. I must find out who he is and eliminate him immediately!'

"Who is it?" the queen asked, her frown deepening.

Rara smiled mischievously. "Oh, I'm still pursuing him. Once he becomes my boyfriend, I'll be sure to introduce him to you."

Relief washed over the king and queen. They seemed reassured that they had time to investigate and deal with the potential suitor if necessary.

"So, may I start learning how to communicate with the fairies now?" Rara asked eagerly.

"It's getting late. Why don't we begin tomorrow afternoon?" the queen suggested.

"Yes, Your Highness!" Rara exclaimed, jumping to the queen's side and hugging her arm affectionately as they made their way back to the palace.
