"Aye. And I'm sure he will be. That boy is more resilient than he seems."
Coran gave Shiro a small smile, trying to offer some hope in this dire situation.
Shiro returned the smile, but it was slightly forced. He was grateful for Coran's optimism, as it helped to ease his own worries a bit.
"Yeah, you're right. Lance can handle himself. I just can't shake this feeling of dread though. Not knowing his condition is killing me."
Coran nodded in understanding, knowing exactly how Shiro was feeling. The thought of not knowing if Lance was safe or even alive was weighing heavily on both of their minds.
"I understand, my boy. But we must focus on what we can do right now, not on what we don't know. There's still a chance Lance will find his way back to us, and we must remain hopeful for that chance."
Keith is in his room. Keith sat on the edge of his bed, his thoughts swirling in his head. He couldn't shake the guilty feeling that was consuming him. The thought of Lance, out there alone and injured, because they had left him behind, was eating him alive.
He couldn't shake the image of Lance's face from his mind, the last time he had seen him before the battle. He looked so innocent, so carefree. But now, who knows what condition he was in. And it was all because they had left him behind without a second thought.
He tried to push the thoughts away, but they kept on coming back to him, tormenting him. He couldn't shake the thought of Lance, potentially hurt or even dead, because they had neglected him as a team, as friends.
Keith stood up from the bed and started pacing around his small room, desperate to clear his head. But the thoughts kept coming, the guilt kept eating away at him. He closed his eyes and clenched his fists, trying to find some way to relieve the overwhelming feeling of guilt and remorse.
He thought back to all the times he had teased Lance, called him names, and tried to knock him down. And now, when Lance needed him the most, he had gone and done just that. He had literally left Lance in the dust, alone and possibly hurt.
Keith's guilt and shame continued to grow as he thought about everything that had happened. He had failed Lance as a teammate and as a friend, and the weight of that failure was almost too much to bear. He sank back onto the bed, burying his face in his hands.
He knew he had messed up, they all had. And now, they could only hope and pray that Lance would somehow make it back to them alive and intact. But the guilt and shame still gnawed at him, and he silently swore to himself that he would do whatever it took to make things right, once they found Lance.
For now, he stayed in his room, still haunted by the image of Lance's face, mixed with thoughts of the worst possible scenarios of what could have happened to him. The guilt and shame continued to haunt his mind and fill his heart, until he finally fell into an uneasy sleep.
Hunk sat on his bed, his head in his hands. The guilt was consuming him. He knew that they had messed up big time. They had left Lance behind, left him to fend for himself, and it was all because they were too focused on the battle and the mission to notice him lagging behind.
The image of Lance's face kept popping into his head, his wide, innocent eyes and carefree smile. But now, Hunk knew that there was a good chance that smile was gone and replaced with a look of fear and pain, all because they had forgotten about their own teammate.
He thought back to all the times they had spent together, all the memories they had shared. The times they had laughed, joked, and trained together. And now, all those moments felt bittersweet, now knowing that he may never see Lance again.
