"What are you doing baby?" Jaemin asks as he walks in and sees Jeno lying across the couch smiling at his phone.
"Hmm? Oh, just watching TikTok's." Jaemin hums as he moves his feet and sits down. He gently places them back on his lap and gently rubs his hands up and down his legs.

"We have our final meeting next week. How are you feeling?" Jaemin asks softly.
"I'm happy, a little nervous too. I hope she likes us." Jeno says with a small smile.
"I'm sure she will love you." Jeno smiles.
"She will love you too honey. Her room looks so nice, you did so good. Oh and I bought her some things. I did a little research to see what little girls like. I got her some pretty bows for her hair and a rainbow brush set. A new toothbrush and toothpaste. Some grape body wash and shampoo." Jaemin chuckles fondly.
"You did good baby." Jeno smiles widely at the compliment.

They spend most of their day this way. Relaxing and holding each other. It's the perfect way to spend their Sundays. Jaemin makes dinner while Jeno does a little light cleaning then they sit at the table together to eat.
They've been doing this more because when they get a child they want to eat as a family. They want to make many good memories for them.

"Jaemin, I've been thinking a lot lately and I want to get a puppy." Jaemin's jaw drops.
"But we have cats, three of them and soon, hopefully, a daughter. Don't you think that will be too much?" Jeno shakes his head as he finishes chewing.
"No, I think she would love a puppy. And if we got a baby one, the cats would teach it to respect their boundaries right away. Or we could even go to a shelter and get one that is already grown who for sure loves kids and cats. It would be so fun. I've always wanted a dog." He says like a child trying to convince their parents.

"No, I don't think it's a good idea. You just aren't responsible enough with pets and I already have my hands full. I don't want more responsibility." Jeno frowns.
"No, just like that? And what do you mean you, have your hands full. I help with the cats, I clean, I may not be a good cook but I do take on responsibilities around here." Jaemin chuckles.
"Baby, don't get worked up. I just don't think it's the right time. Maybe someday in the future." Jeno stands and scrapes his plate before washing it.
"Ok, end of discussion then." He says as he walks out. Jaemin sighs and clears his plate.

"Honey, are you mad?" He asks as Jeno is sitting and staring blankly at the tv.
"No." Is all he gets. Jaemin cuddles into his side.
"I just remember all of your past pets. Remember the turtle? You had him a month before you decided you didn't want him anymore and gave him to your cousin. Then there was the bird, and I'm the one who cleans up after the cats all the time and I just don't want to get stuck with the responsibility of the dog when you decide you don't want it anymore, besides you can play with the kitties whenever you want." Jeno stands abruptly making Jaemin almost fall into the couch.
"I'm going to bed. Good night."

He walks off leaving Jaemin to pout. He doesn't understand why he's so upset about this. He was just stating the facts.
He gets into bed after shutting all the lights off and locking up to find Jeno facing the wall, hidden under a mound of pillows and blankets.
He touches his back but he is as stiff as a board. He obviously doesn't want Jaemin to touch him. Jaemin sighs. He's known Jeno a long time and knows how sulky he can be when he's upset. He figures he should probably let him cool off and talk to him in the morning before work.

When Jaemin wakes in the morning, Jeno is already gone. He searches the whole house to find he left for work without him. He doesn't know if he should be angry or feel guilty. For now it's a little of both.

He goes straight to Jeno's room and finds him working on his computer.
"Why did you leave without me?" He asks softly.
"I had work to do." He says in a short tone.
"Look, Jen, I know you're mad about the puppy thing but it is something we both need to agree on." Jeno scoffs.
"Is that what you think this is about?" He shakes his head.
"Look, I don't want to talk about this here. Don't you have class to get ready for anyway?" He asks irritated. Jaemin sighs and nods.
"Yeah, ok." He walks away slowly, Jeno doesn't even spare him a glance.

By midday he's dying to know what he did wrong. It's killing him. He loves his Jeno so much and to think he hurt him so bad that he won't even talk to him is too much to handle.
As soon as he gets a break, he walks to where his class is but sees him talking with some students that must have gotten in trouble and couldn't go to recess. He figures he shouldn't even try and heads to talk to Mark instead.

"Hey Jaemin, what's up?" Mark asks happily.
"Oh nothing much. My husband hates me today." Mark frowns.
"What did you do?" He asks as he leans back in his chair.
"I told him he couldn't get a puppy and now he's so upset he won't talk to me." He says sadly.
"Well, maybe it's the fact that you told him no without discussing it?" He shakes his head.
"But we did. I told him how he's never been that responsible with pets in the past and I already take care of three cats, and I'm not exaggerating. He's gotten and given away at least two that I know of.
Mark hums.

"Well maybe it's in how you said it? Or maybe he's changed and you should give him a chance?" Jaemin sighs.
"And if all else fails, buy him a puppy." Mark says with a shrug.

"How was your date? I forgot to ask." Jaemin asks with a clear sadness still in his tone.
"Amazing. Renjun is so sweet, and the more I'm with him the more I like him." He sighs happily and even brings a smile to Jaemin's face.
"He kissed me, a few times." Jaemin's smile gets wider.
"That's nice, I knew you two would be a good match." Mark pats him on the shoulder.
"After work, talk to him. I'm sure he will be fine after some time." Jaemin nods and heads back to his class.

As soon as the bell rings Jaemin hurries the kids out to the front of the school so he can find Jeno. He sees him standing with his kids and guides his line over to stand by him.
"Hey." He says softly.
"Hi." Jeno says back.
"I missed you today." Jaemin says sadly. Jeno sighs.
"I'm still here." He says simply. Jaemin nods as he can still hear an undeniable sadness in his voice.

As the kids all have left they head back into the school, Jaemin fast walks to him and takes his hand, stopping him in his tracks.
"Are you coming home?" He asks in a small voice. Jeno frowns.
"Of course, I'll see you there." He says softly. Jaemin nods but doesn't let him walk away just yet. He leans in and softly presses his lips to his cheek.
"I love you Jen." He whispers.
"I love you too." He whispers back before turning into his room to get his things ready.

Jaemin walks away still feeling defeated but at least he still loves him, that's something, not that he doubted him but it's still comforting to hear. Now all he needs to do is go home and clear the air.
