Every second that passed made it harder for me to accept what had happened. I had spent the best day -and night- of my life and she was gone before I could see her in the morning. I spent a good half and hour thinking about what had happened and it had just hit me - I had had a one night stand - and I wasn't compleatly proud of it, not proud of what it was, not with who it had been. Let me explain myself.I was never the kind of guy that wanted a one night stand, and I never thought I would have one, but now it had happened, I couldn't wait to see her again.
Not having a watch made things harder, but I could tell from the window that it wasn't nine, but more like 12. I dashed out the hotel with my shirt she left beside the hotel which I put on my way there.
Getting to my job was hard, there was one thing on my mind: Alexis. But it wasn't the hardest thing, I had to explain the reason why I was so late, and I definitely wasn't ready to confront the situation.
Isaac approached me upon my entrance.
- You're late -He said with his arms crossed
- Sorry, it has been a rough night and morning - I responded as truthfully as I could
- No problem, try to tell us though, I had to clean the dishes myself and with Joe (who I soon learned was his brother).
- Sounds good - I said on my way to grab my apron.
Since I had missed so many hours the work had piled up, and I wasn't pleased. It was also hard to work with a mental block in between, but I got through it.
It was not until 6 that I talked to Isaac again, again he approached me. This time it was an invitation. He said he saw me kind of sad today, and since we spent so much time together, he thought it would be a good idea to go out. I had spent three days in Scotland, and I hadn't seen much of it. We agreed to meet up straight after work, but I had to explain to him that I had no clothes.
He said that I should go to his house, since he lived above the restaurant and he would lend me some clothes. I was great fully, and lately it seemed as people were being nice to me for no absolute reason.
Going out was definitely something I needed, to get fresh air, clear my mind and maybe; just maybe find Alexis. Who knew?
No, not Alexis, this night wasn't going to be about her, it was all about me not thinking about her.
Work was over and I was walking up the stairs to his house. Just as I expected, he lived by himself and the place was messy.
-Let's clean up the space so we can bring girls back home - He stated
Truthfully, there was only one girl I wanted to take home, and you already know her name.
- Sure, I'm looking forward to it - I lied.
An hour had passed and we were ready to head off.
-Where are we going ?
-Millennium- He answered
We walked back to the restaurant and turned off all the lights before walking out. It was already ten o clock, and the night and darkness had already taken over. We had a shot or two to get us started.
His car was an old Duna, and to my surprise it was still in good shape regardless of the many years it had.
We arrived in half an hour, and the place was looking pretty good. The black glass windows definitely impressed. We got in, and though it was small, it looked like every bar I had ever gone to.
-Let's grab a drink - He proposed
- Sure - I replied
I was ready to forget and live a night I wouldn't remember.
Shot after shot, drink after drink, or whatever I had had made me dizzy and lose my balance.
Dancing made no more sense, I was just rapidly moving as the liquid had gotten to my brain and it was squishing around. During my pointless skiming I spotted her between the crowd.
I pushed body upon body until I reached the spot where she was, but she was no longer there. Had she seen me? Was she running away from me and everything we had shared?
I can comfortably admit that things were rushed and I knew too much about her too soon. On the flip side, she approached me. Yes I wanted to find her but I wasn't planning on doing so.
For the following fifteen minutes I searched and searched and searched. Unexpectedly, somebody grabbed my arm.
My hopes were up but soon down. Isaac spoke, and I could see his lips moving, but understanding was not an ability I had at the time.
I then understood that he said we should probably head back, but I refused. Eventually, my consciousness faded faster and faster.
Next thing I know I'm in a car, and I just knew it wasn't Isaac's.
