The two of them reach a small planet and they're above it. Arete is somehow nervous on how the aura of the planet is ominous. What possibly Jayen hides here? Methods of torture? Is this where she will train?
Is her aura from having lectures from Lobin isn't enough? Oh... Maybe Jayen didn't say that. Not exactly the way she interpreted his silence. Her heart is echoing those words and it makes her unsettled.
Those words echo inside her heart that even her ears are hearing it and will bleed if it continues. Oh. A realization. This is what happens if you will destroy yourself in a matter of seconds. And the way we will make up some words to fill their silence breaks us more.
"Are you over-thinking?" Jayen says as he looks down at the planet.
"Hmm? That's impossible. I'm fine." She smiles.
"There's a new wave in your voice. You're unstable."
"...."
"What is troubling you?"
"... Nothing I swear!" She says cheerfully.
He sighs as he pulls her closer to him, "don't let go. I'm still observing the creatures I'm raising on this planet."
"Oof!" She bumped her cheek on his shoulder. Then she felt her cheeks becoming warm. Why do Han and Jayen like to carry someone by their waist and hold them close? Do they have abandonment issues or something? It's making her flustered.
"Are you alright?" He asks her gently and smiles warmly.
Her eyes widened and looks away, "Y-Yes.."
"Then it's good. Here we go. We're going down. Hold on tight." His fingers that are on her waist taps her as a warning.
She nodded, feeling hot in her face.
Jayen slowly goes into the atmosphere of the planet. It's cold. It has winter storms that are combined with snow and strong winds, causing the eyes not to see anything.
"J-Jayen, it's cold." She shivered, wrapping her arms on his neck.
"Hmm? Oh right." He summons his staff to create a circular barrier so they can walk without thinking of extreme coldness.
"Thank you..." She moves a little bit to give him space.
"Anytime, Xian." He says without looking at her.
They continued walking in silence. She didn't bother to ask for hints. She observes how his expression changes from seriousness to gloom. Is it personal that he hid it for a thousand years?
Then they stopped at another cabin.
"Here we are. We'll go underground." He says.
She nodded and held the hem of his clothes so she wouldn't get lost.
They entered and went downstairs. The intense feeling increases as she hears machines clicking and making noises.
Then...
Arete's eyes widened in shock.
There's a capsule and... A man inside of it.
He looks like Jayen. With that same height, physique and white hair. The man looks like a clone of her best friend.
"Who... Who is he?"
"My twin brother. The true person who met Han in the streets and brought him back home."
"... What?"
"His name is..." Jayen lets go of Arete and goes to his twin's capsule, looking at it so longingly, "Bristyl."
