Bristyl is now fully clothed and eating the other half of the dish Jayen made for Arete. She's observing how the twins are different from each other. Jayen seems to be more calculating. Bristyl is elegant with a small portion of naivety.
"So, do you have any memories of Iryankka?"
"... Iryankka... Our... Home.."
She nodded, smiling, "that's right, Bristyl."
"God of... Moon whispered... That it was destroyed."
"That's also true."
"Is it because of... us?"
'He's breathing heavily as he speaks. Should I stop talking to him and give him more time to adjust? After all, it's been five hundred years since he was resurrected.' She thought to herself.
"Xian..."
"Yes, Bristyl?"
"Why... Do you have another... Name? Don't you like... Your name anymore?"
"... Jayen told me time reversed on my body and became a newborn." She bites her lower lip, not meeting the man's gaze, "I split up my soul to restart a new life. Since I'm not complete after that process, I fall into a deep slumber. For the whole thousand of years and when I do wake up, that's when I start growing up.... I... I didn't have any memories..."
"Is... That so? You... Met me when I brought Han... Home. That's the first time me and my brother swap in place." He finishes eating and gently wipes the crumbs on his face, "don't be sad, Xian... We can make... More memories..."
"We can... We can." She smiles widely.
"But... Inside your heart... Don't you feel betrayed?"
"For what?"
"Jayen and I swapped places even right after our rebellion started..."
"I honestly don't know what to feel as Arete. There is so much information to take in. Some memories to accept. Maybe, I am hurt now. Because Jayen and I are best friends... In my past life, he and I did things together. We're partners in crime and this little secret will help me to understand him better and his perspective."
"I'm... sorry, Xian." He looks down.
She stands up and sits beside him, "No... It's not your fault, Bristyl. It's your parents who have twisted personalities. Jayen and you were forced to mature early... But now... Even without memories, I can say that it will not change the way I see in your eyes that you are kind."
"Xian..." Bristyl eyes widened and tears formed in his eyes. He lets it drop and she chuckles while wiping it.
"We can be friends now that you're your own person now. You don't need to swap your place with Jayen now. There's no restrictions." She smiles warmly.
He nodded slowly, "Thank you... My heart is... calming down."
"Take your time..."
They stayed in that position for a while. Arete is humming a song to calm him. Which is not a bother to her. She loves music.
"Xian...?"
"Yes?"
"Now that you're... you have no memories... You're really that willing to know both me and Jayen?"
"Yes. I don't mind going through a challenge."
"Oh.... Thank you." He bows his head for gratitude.
"Xian?! I'm back! I heard your scream from the farm!" Jayen opens the door, bringing some mysterious meat.
