Wow.

What a compelling stare, that he almost forgot to breathe.

...With such a familiar blue eye color, he wasn't dumb enough to have not noticed its similarity to the hue of the light that once existed inside his necklace.

But Aether was still on his right mind, and so he reached to his back and took off his cape to wrap it around the naked girl kneeling in front of him in a swift move.

Yes. A girl.

The woman in question appreciated his concern, and smiled. "Thank you, Aether."

And she even knew his name, as if they were long-term acquaintances.

Aether didn't have the time to act embarrassed and shy away from her beauty and lack of garments, as his mind was filled with questions about the turn of events.

"You...just what are you?" He muttered slowly.

The woman's lips curled up softly. "You recognize me?" She whispered, bringing her hand to his cheek to rub away the crystal droplets escaping his eyes.

Aether nodded, almost seduced to shut his eyes close from the affection. "The warmth of your hands gave it away... I've been feeling it for so long that I'd recognize it instantly."

She giggled. "Then that makes things easier."

Paimon, who was watching the scene unfold since earlier, approached the two.

Although clearly confused, she butted in between the two and told them it'd be an ideal thing to do to get out of the rainforest first of all and then warm up.

Paimon gave a friendly smile and helped the girl up to her feet, only to see that she wasn't adept in using her pair of legs and almost stumbled to the ground.

Aether caught her in time, saying a quick "Sorry for doing this. Hold on tight.", before lifting the girl into the safety of his arms.

The girl didn't seem to mind, in fact she didn't look a tiny bit uneasy. She burrowed her head even deeper into his neck and leaned against his torso with that never-changing smile from her face.

By her actions, Aether felt the same sensation again the same way the pendant would feel every time it was placed on top of his chest.

It confirmed his thoughts even more that this girl...was indeed the blue light from the bottle, as it also explains her inexperience to stand or walk.

Besides, what else can explain how a girl suddenly appeared in front of him out of nowhere the exact instance that his necklace broke?

Arriving at the outskirts of the Sumeru City, Paimon told them to stay put and hide away from anyone's sight while she buys clothes that could hopefully fit the girl and provide her with decent comfort on her skin.
