Where dust-veiled lands stretch endlessly,
Haunting rhythms pulse wild and free.
In sun-baked earth, secrets lie deep,
Stirring tales the ancients keep.
Parched horizons, stark and bleak,
Echo with a voice unique.
Restless souls seek silence here,
Surprised to find it far from near.Over weathered boards, phantom beats
Flutter like ghostly heartbeat's feats. The night falls, and star-gazers peep,
Hearing earthen drums' melody seep.
Eerie gumba-gumba sounds leakKindling thoughts of times long past,
Allowing history's echoes to last.
Rugged landscape, both harsh and vast,
Offers more than meets the eye at last.
Oh, how this arid realm sings on,
Of life and death, from dusk to dawn.Photo by Juanita Swart on Unsplash.
