Part 2

---

It was a typical Tuesday afternoon in Mrs. Parker's English class when she announced a new project. "Alright, class, we're starting a group project on famous literary works. I'll be pairing you up, and you'll have two weeks to complete it. This will be a significant part of your grade, so make sure you put in the effort," she said, her eyes scanning the room. Seugmin listened with bated breath, hoping he would get paired with someone he could work well with. His heart nearly stopped when he heard his name. "Seugmin and Minho," Mrs. Parker continued, a smile playing on her lips. "You two will be working together."

Seugmin's pulse quickened. Minho, the most popular guy in school and the object of his secret crush, was now his project partner. He glanced over at Minho, who gave him a friendly nod. Trying to mask his excitement and nerves, Seugmin nodded back. After class, Minho approached him with that dazzling smile that always made Seugmin's heart flutter.

"Looks like we're partners," Minho said casually, slinging his backpack over his shoulder. "Do you want to meet up after school to start working on the project?"

"Yeah, that sounds good," Seugmin replied, trying to keep his voice steady. "We can go to my house if you want."

"Perfect. I'll see you after school," Minho said, giving him a warm smile that made Seugmin's knees feel weak.

The rest of the day seemed to drag on as Seugmin anxiously awaited their meeting. When the final bell rang, he quickly gathered his things and headed to the front of the school, where Minho was already waiting.

"Ready to go?" Minho asked, his eyes twinkling.

"Yeah, let's go," Seugmin said, leading the way to his house.

The walk was filled with easy conversation, and Seugmin found himself relaxing more and more. Minho was incredibly easy to talk to, and Seugmin was surprised by how much they had in common. When they arrived at Seugmin's house, his mom greeted them with a warm smile.

"Hi, Mrs. Kim," Minho said politely. "Thanks for having me over."

"You're always welcome, Minho," she replied. "You boys go ahead and work on your project. I'll bring up some snacks in a bit."

They headed up to Seugmin's room, where he cleared a space on his desk for them to work. They spread out their notes and books, diving into the project with enthusiasm. As they worked, Seugmin couldn't help but steal glances at Minho, admiring his concentration and the way his eyes lit up when he talked about something he was passionate about.

After a while, Seugmin's mom brought up a tray of snacks and drinks. "Here you go, boys. Keep up the good work," she said with a wink before leaving them to it.

"Thanks, Mom," Seugmin said, feeling a bit embarrassed but grateful.

They took a break to enjoy the snacks, and the conversation shifted from the project to more personal topics. Minho shared stories about his family and hobbies, and Seugmin found himself opening up more than he ever had before.

As the afternoon turned into evening, they decided to take a break and sit on the bed, their project temporarily forgotten. They talked about their dreams and aspirations, and Seugmin felt a connection growing between them. The room was filled with a warm, comfortable silence, punctuated by their quiet laughter.

At one point, Minho asked Seugmin to pass him a book from the desk. As Seugmin stretched to reach it, he felt a sudden, sharp pain in his side—a cramp from sitting too long in the same position. Without thinking, he let out a small, involuntary moan.

Minho looked up, surprised. "Are you okay?" he asked, his eyes wide with concern.

Seugmin's face turned a deep shade of red. "Yeah, I'm fine," he stammered, mortified. "It was just a cramp. That sound was totally by accident."

Minho chuckled softly, a teasing glint in his eyes. "Don't worry about it. Everyone makes weird sounds sometimes."

Seugmin tried to laugh it off, but he could feel his face burning with embarrassment. He handed the book to Minho, trying to avoid eye contact. "Here you go," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Thanks," Minho said, his tone gentle. "Seriously, don't worry about it. It's no big deal."

Despite Minho's reassurances, Seugmin couldn't shake his embarrassment. He focused on the project, trying to ignore the awkwardness that had settled between them. But Minho, ever the charismatic one, managed to steer the conversation back to more comfortable topics, easing the tension.

"So, what do you think about this part of the book?" Minho asked, pointing to a passage they were analyzing.

Seugmin took a deep breath, grateful for the change in subject. "I think it's really interesting how the author uses symbolism here," he said, feeling more at ease. "It really adds depth to the story."

"Yeah, I agree," Minho said, nodding. "It's one of my favorite parts."

They continued working, and gradually, the awkwardness faded. As the evening wore on, Seugmin found himself feeling more comfortable around Minho again. They laughed and joked, their earlier embarrassment forgotten.

When it was time for Minho to leave, they stood by the door, reluctant to say goodbye. "I'll see you tomorrow," Minho said, giving Seugmin a warm smile.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow," Seugmin replied, his heart full.

As he watched Minho walk away, Seugmin couldn't help but smile. Despite the embarrassing moment, he felt a sense of connection with Minho that he hadn't felt before.
