"Finally home." Marjorie whispered as she sat on the couch in her livingroom, she quickly reached over to the to the tv remote. "Wonder what is on the TV..."

But much to her annoyance the sound of her phone ringing echoed throughout her living room. "Ugh. What now?" She asked herself as she answered the phone.

"Hello Is this Marjorie the Manager of the Knight Nursery?"

"Yes..."

"I'm sorry but there was a fire in the nursery..." The fire marshel said through the phone, Marjorie felt speechless. What? "

"I'll be over there soon,"

Charlotte slowly walked through the Nursery's carpark watching the smoke spilling up into the sky. She glanced around at the carpark to see Marjorie staring at the nursery.

"Marjorie, I'm so sorry." She quietly said as she stood to the side of Marjorie glancing up towards her face. She felt as if her heart broke watching Marjorie look on the brink of bursting into tears.

"I don't know what happened... I don't know how it happened..." Marjorie muttered, forcing Charlotte to gently place her arm around her shoulder in a comforting way.

"It will be okay Marjorie, " Charlotte whispered, as one of the fire fighters walked towards them.

"The fire was contained in the one room, so the nursery can remain open. " He began, as Marjorie barely looked at him. "However the room will need to be refurbished until people can access it."

"Okay, Thank you." Charlotte asked, watching as the fire fighter walked away.

"Good think I phoned it in when I saw it. My husband and I saw the smoke during our walk." Summer said as Charlotte gently placed her hand around Marjorie's shoulder.

"And where is your husband now?"

"Uhh..."

The following morning

Autumn was sat at her desk in the manager's office thinking back to the previous night, when the nursery was on fire. Part of her just felt guilty over the whole ordeal. She slowly glanced down to her desk drawer noticing how it was slightly opened - not how she had left it the night before. As she slowly pulled the desk drawer opened she glanced down to a pair of hair straighteners. "Why are these in here?" She asked herself aloud, just as Marjorie entered their office.

"Are those?" Marjorie asked, giving Autumn a confused look.

"Yes, Someone left hair straighteners in my desk drawer," Autumn began with an annoyed look across her face. " I think whoever left these here caused the fire."

"That does seem likely..." She replied, when someone quickly entered the room cutting her off.

"MARJORIE, I have something to tell you!" Carly exclaimed, getting both Autumn and Marjorie's attention.

"What is it my love?"

"I think I started the fire..." Carly replied, as Marjorie looked at her with a confused look across her face.

"How did you do that?" Marjorie knew for a fact that Carly left early two days ago before the huge power cut and Carly doesn't even have a key to the nursery as she is an apprentice. It made no sense.

"Remember when I had to leave early for that date?" Carly answered causing Marjorie to nod her head. "Well I was running late and I was putting something in Benjamin's bag, I saw a set or a pair of hair straighteners and I stole them. After I used them I hid them in a cupboard in the baby room. I'M SORRY MARJORIE, I KNOW I'LL GET FIRED AND MAYBE ARRESTED BU-"

"Carly I'm going to stop you there," Marjorie cut her off, "You didn't start the fire, Are those the straighteners you used?"

As Carly glanced over to the hair straighteners Autumn was holding up her eyes widened. "Yes!" She replied, as Marjorie looked back towards her.

"Autumn found them in her desk drawer the morning and the fire happened the day after the power cut. "

Time had passed since Carly had left the office but Marjorie couldn't help but wonder who really caused the fire. "I think Summer started the fire..." She blurted out, catching Autumn's attention.

"Are you sure?" Autumn asked, as she put the pen she was writing with down.

"Yesterday when I was leaving after the power cut she walked up to me and complained that she lost her hair straighteners in the nursery. I told her that she'd have to wait a day." Marjorie explained, trying to recall the events of the previous night. "But when the nursery was on fire she claimed that she phoned it in when her and her husband were on a walk-"

"MARJORIE!!" A voice echoed down the corridor outside the office forcing both Marjorie and Autumn to roll their eyes.  As soon as they entered the room Marjorie closed her eyes from frustration.

"Summer are these the hair straighteners you lost?" Marjorie asked, as she picked up them from Autumn's desk.

'Yes..."

"I know for a fact these were not in my desk drawer yesterday..." Autumn began, with an annoyed look across her face. "Do you have any clue as to why there were there?"

"No..." Summer replied sounding guilty, as she quickly turned towards the office door. "I have to go..."

"Okay... I find it concerning how many suspected arsonists I seem to hire. " Marjorie muttered to herself unaware that Charlotte had entered the office. "Who's next, was it Winter?"

"No." Autumn promptly replied, receiving a shocked look from both Charlotte and Marjorie. As Autumn's eyes widened realising what she just said.

"And you'd know that because... you were with him that night?" Autumn forcefully rolled her eyes at the suggestion in hopes it would convince them that it was not the case.

'Well I happened to grow up around arsonists, So I know one when I see it." She explained, "Winter is not one."
