In kindergarten, with the aid of simplicity and wonder, we want to step into the world with brand new sneakers and empty minds.
In elementary school, we want to learn what pure, untainted happiness means--getting more of that high from the swings and less inhaled wood chips in our faces.
In junior high we want to laugh until our squinted eyes can't see tomorrow, because the torture yielding itself down our backs yearns to loosen its grip,
In high school we want to remember how to smile wide enough to capture new found joy in our lips,
And in college we want to grow up in a world where happiness isn't hiding from us.
In life, we want to feel content. But then why is it always so hard?
