Tong Yao stood at the entrance of the ZDGX base, clutching the large, awkwardly-shaped package wrapped tightly in brown paper. The photoframe inside was heavy, but she managed to balance it with a huff. After adjusting the strap of her camera bag and her luggage clutched in her other hand, she rang the doorbell. Ai Jia had wanted to drop her off but Tong Yao had instead asked him to bring her bike and lock down her apartment for her and bring the love of her life, her cat, Da Bing.
Moments later, the door swung open to reveal none other than Lu Sicheng, dressed casually in a black hoodie and sweatpants. He took one look at her, then his gaze dropped to the massive package in her hands. His lips curled into a smirk, one that made her instantly wary.
"Delivery service," she said dryly, lifting the package slightly as though that explained everything.
Without saying a word, Lu Sicheng reached out, effortlessly taking the large frame from her arms. His hand brushed hers for a second—she could swear he did it on purpose—before he turned and, with the most nonchalant expression in the world, closed the door on her face.
She blinked, staring at the closed door, stunned for all of two seconds.
"Seriously?" she muttered under her breath. Her annoyance quickly gave way to indignation, then a wicked idea. Two can play this game.
Meanwhile, inside the base, Xiao Pang was lounging on the couch when he glanced over, noticing Lu Sicheng walking in with the hefty package. Lao K and Lao Mao, both curious, wandered over.
"What's that?" Xiao Pang asked, eyeing the giant frame suspiciously.
Lu Sicheng set it down with a heavy thud, giving it a casual once-over before shrugging. "Delivery service."
Lao Mao nodded eyeing the package curiously while Lao K eyed his smug captain with a raised an eyebrow.
Before he could say anything though all of their phones pinged at once with notifications. The guys exchanged confused glances and quickly unlocked their phones.
"Oh no way..." Xiao Pang muttered, his eyes widening as he scrolled through his Weibo feed.
It was a new post from Smiling.
Smiling: When you deliver a masterpiece to your team captain and the only thanks you get is the door slammed in your face. Guess I'll stick to emoticons for expressing my pain: 🤷 ♀ ️ 💀🚪
But it didn't end there but it didn't end there of course it didn't:
Note to self: Don't try to deliver anything to the Captain unless you want the full Prince Charming "chivalry is dead" experience.* #SuchChivalryMuchWow #ZDGXStrongMan #GiveBackMyFrame
Lao K nodded, smirking. "Looks like the 'delivery service' is calling you out."
Lu Sicheng, who had been scrolling through the post on his own phone, scoffed before he quickly went to open the door. As soon as he left Xiao Pang burst into snickers followed by Lao Mao. K smirked he had a feeling that their new mid would be keeping their captain on his toes.
