"MOM ITS not an excuse to stay out of the house, I just promised Karen I would help her out with the diner tonight. I'll be home by ten, if that." The blonde hair girl stood in front of her front door frame with her head in her hands as she let out an annoyed sigh at her overprotective mother.

"I know, I know! It's just that, it wouldn't hurt to go support your brother at his basketball game? I mean, he supported you at your spelling bee.." She rushed down the stairs finishing putting her earrings in as she was dressed in Tree Hill merch with a picture of Colin pinned on her jacket.

"Oh my gosh, mom! In sixth grade! That was how many years ago?" She held her fingers out and began to count how many years ago but her counting got interrupted as she heard her father's voice come out the kitchen.

"Yasmine, dear, spare her. I can recall last time her brother called her an idiot, and I wouldn't want to go support him either. And last time I can recall, my Char Bear is a smartie pants. Colin needs to get in the books once in a while." Her father turned to his wife for her to adjust his tie, which she did and kept a smile throughout doing her task.

"Go to the diner, sweetie. Do you need a ride? We can drop you off on the way to the school, it's getting pretty dark and I don't want you to walk outside at this time." Dalton walked over to his daughter and ruffled her hair which caused the girl to groan that soon turned into a laugh.

"I'll walk. It's fine, trust me." Charlie patted her hair down and gave her father a pity smile as she opened the front door to head out. "Tell Colin he's  gonna get whooped!" She let out a laugh, "Love you both!" She said as she skipped out the door.

"Love you, honey." Her parents said synchronized. "She's gonna get us in trouble someday, not now, but the day is coming." Dalton spoke to his wife, "That someday could be tomorrow, she just needs to find the right person to get in trouble with." Yasmine wrapped her arm around her husband's waist as they followed behind Charlotte to the car as she walked on the sidewalk.

"I have that person and we haven't gotten in any trouble in what? 16 years?" Dalton spoke as he covered his mouth jokingly with one hand, causing Yasmine to slap his shoulder.

"I didn't mean it in that manner, now I know where your son gets his dirtiness from!" Causing the blonde woman to speed walk to their BMW.

Charlie made it to Karen's Cafe where she saw Haley sitting at the table causing her to light up with happiness. She bursted into the door and cleared her throat before speaking, "Madam James." Causing the brunette headed girl to spin around in her chair, "Madam Murray."

"Hales!" She ran over to the chair she was seated at and embraced her, which she received back. "Charles." Causing the girl to break away from the hug, "How many times do I have to tell you, I am no Charles! Either Charlie or Charlotte."

"But Charles is unique. And makes men get jealous when they hear the name Charles when really I'm talking about my best friend, ah!" The brunette girl got up from her chair quickly as the blonde began to chase her around the diner but quickly paused before she knocked down Karen.

"Karen! Hi!" Charlotte gave the woman a hug not realizing her hands were full, "Charlie, honey, just give me one second." Karen knew the girl was a hugger and didn't mind being hugged every now and then but she was quite occupied.

"You're not going to the game tonight to go watch Colin play?" She asked moving towards the coffee station to place the clean dishes back where they belong.

"No, not tonight. He's just been such a di-" She saw Haley shake her head no rapidly and realized what she almost said. "He's just been so disorganized around the house and a total slob, y'know. And I also wanted to help you out tonight!"
