IN THE Tutoring Center, Charlie sat across from Nathan studying for an upcoming history exam.

"Oh, this is so stupid! Why do we have to study history anyway?" Nathan looked up from the textbook and looked at the blonde girl who was in her own books.

"So we're not doomed to repeat it." Which made no sense at all in Nathan's brain.

"What?" Charlotte chuckled at his slight dumbness and her not being able to explain properly.

"Look, just don't lose hope, okay? Tomorrow's a teacher work day so you've got a three-day weekend to study."

"Minus my dad's annual kiss-his-ass jamboree. Hey, I would invite you, Charlotte.. but it's kind of a b-ball crowd." He sincerely said.

"Oh, please. Come on, like I want to kiss your dad's ass anyways." He nodded his head and picked his notebook getting ready to leave. "I made you a study guide! And everything you need to ace your history exam is right in this little box of tricks here. Nodoz, eye drops, number-two pencils.."

"Why don't you just text message me the answers?"

"Oh! No. So, um.. just give me a call if you need anything, okay? Thanks for cutting Lucas some slack."

"Deals a deal, right?"

"Right." She picked up her books and slid the box closer to him. Charlie walked around him not knowing that Nathan did a double take while she wasn't looking.

Charlotte was getting ready to leave for the school day, looking at her shoes and not what was going on in front of her. Nearly getting ran over, by Peyton.

"Hey! I'm walking here.." She slapped her forehead then placed that same hand over her heart that was beating faster than usual.

"Gosh, I'm so sorry." The curly haired girl turned her head to look at the other blonde.

"Like you weren't aiming."

"No, not aiming. You're not on that list. You need a ride somewhere?"

The Murray girl hesitated and the Sawyer girl gave her no time before unlocking her door. "Come on, get in."

"Well, I guess it's better to be in your car than under it," she said as she slid inside onto the red seats of her car.

Peyton chuckled to herself, "So, I'm not really good at this."

"Well yeah, you're gonna want to put that in gear and give it a little gas."

"No, I meant.. I meant the whole not being defensive thing. Last week in Brooke's car you said he cares about you, and I was trying really hard to be cool and I didn't ask whether you meant Nathan or Lucas."

"And now you're asking me?"

"I'm a pathetic kind of way, yeah.."

"I'm not gonna be much help. I guess I meant both of them. Lucky you!"
