~You Discover A New Gemstone~

Buck has always looked at pretty jewelry in his life, whether it be his mom's necklaces or earrings, his dad's wedding ring, or Maddie's accessories that changed as she got older.

The worst thing of jewelry she could have worn was her wedding ring from Doug.

Thing is, Buck has had seen his fair share and built his opinion on the matter.

First he thought girls with piercings that shone with fake diamonds were the thing, over time and between flings it wasn't exactly his favorite.

Later on, the older he got, he found classic stuff prettier, Abby made him think that and he was actually looking at cheap pearl necklace gifts he could have given, luckily for his wallet and mindset he never did.

Once he got over Abby he was wondering what would be good, so he figured tiny gold accessories would go.

However, that was all for women- what would you get a man?

Buck was utterly clueless about what to get Eddie-  Especially since it was their anniversary coming up.

Don't get him wrong, Buck has been thinking since the year prior when Eddie made the most beautiful couples gift.

Christopher had given them his the day prior, since a big sleepover was planned with a huge party and whatnot-  After it he spent time with Carla so it was all planned out.

So it gave Eddie the chance to take Buck on a trip to Europe, let him see nature and see several food festivals in different countries.

Buck by far preferred Italy over any other.

Since then he's been wondering what to get and when to propose.  Eddie's birthday came up: nothing, except roses and a busy day saving lives

Thanksgiving: nope, but delicious shift turkey.

Halloween: Nothing but cute family spooks and lots of kids.

Christmas:  Beautiful shared gifts and a food and eggnog coma.

All the festive opportunities were ruined by either a shift or occupied with other beautiful moments Buck did not want to intervene on.

Plus he never wanted to propose on just a random Tuesday within the week like it was nothing.

There had to be just one occasion which would warrant such an extravagant and important question.

Buck was certain it was this year.

So, anytime he could, he looked up jewelry places online to see what they had-  He browses through numerous stores, online and in the building but has never found something that basically yelled at him to get it.

Even crafted rings online from people did not inspire him- and they had some beautiful custom pieces.

"Boy you better settle on a ring for that finger-"  Carla tuts, preparing a simple cup of coffee for Buck.

The hot beverage sure did bring some comfort and she brings over some milk and sugar in case he wanted some- of course cookies as well.

Carla sets it all down in front of him, sitting down with her own mug and eagerly taking a sip.

She lives for the drama and hearing that her long term odd golden retriever bestie is planning to entirely settle? Oh strap her in cause she ain't leaving until the matter's done and dusted.

Buck sighs and cradles the mug, careful not to burn his fingers, "I've been thinking and looking since last year. Nothing that I find speaks to me, to get me to buy it. And Eddie last year surprised me to such a big trip to Europe that all our money for such an expensive tour is also gone-"
