Thankfully, they made it to their class on time and with some time to spare. They took their seats, which were next to Epel, who was No. 7. They were No. 8 and No. 9. Orion let Simon sit next to Epel while he sat next to his brother.
He glanced to his side and saw a dark-skinned boy with wolf ears. The boy looked over at him, having felt his stare and they shared a look. Orion grinned and waved, while the boy just raised a brow and nodded to him.
"Ori?" Simon called his brother, "Were you listening, nya?" Orion turned to Simon, a question mark practically hanging above his head.
Simon sighed, shaking his head, "I said, did you bring your book for class?"
Orion paused; a smile stuck on his face. He, in fact, didn't. He forgot to even bring his magic pen. He began chuckling nervously, "Sim~ You know I love you more than anything, Ne~?" He clung to his brother's arm, a sweet smile on his face.
Simon paused with a smile, "Don't touch me, nya."
Orion huffed, "Rude, how heartless, abandoning your own brother like that, ne~" He fake cried, leaning his whole upper body on the table as he turned to his brother.
Simon rolled his eyes, but inevitably slid his book to the middle of the table so he and Orion could both look at it. He refused to look at Orion, who was beaming at him with a bright smile. He also ignored the happy thumping of his tail.
"Shut up, nya." He warned his brother, who shut his mouth and just settled with hugging his brother tightly. Simon didn't resist, and just sighed. Orion only hugged him for a few seconds before letting go and smoothing out Simon's clothes.
Epel was surprised at how close Simon and Orion were, he may not have a sibling, but he'd always heard that most siblings don't get along with each other. Maybe these two were an exception?
Orion stared at the book in between him and his brother, then over at Epel, and then at his brother, "Hmm..." A light bulb suddenly popped into his head and he grinned with mischief filling his eyes. He grabbed his brother's book and hugged it to his chest, "I'll be borrowing this, Sim~ Thanks'!" he grinned.
"Huh? I meant we can share it, nya." Simon said, confused by the sudden action.
"Nope~!" Orion clicked his tongue, "This is mine now, ne." He said, holding the book up so Simon couldn't grab it from him. Simon huffed irritated, "What am I supposed to do then?"
Orion grinned widely, "You can share with Eppy~!!"
Simon started at his brother with an unimpressed look, "Orion, give me my book back, nya~!" Orion shook his head, ignoring the hair that stood up from Simon's glare.
Simon always did have a scary glare, even when they were children. Especially when paired with a smile.
"Nu-uh!!" He stuck his tongue out at his brother, whose ear's started twitching. That was never a good sign, Orion was prepared to get killed when the bell rang, and the teacher came in.
He sighed with relief when Simon faced the front, side-eyeing his brother. There wasn't a smile on his face, scaring Orion even more than the glare he had been receiving.
Epel didn't mind sharing, so he slid his book over so the two could share if they needed to open the book. Simon thanked him quietly, focusing back on the teacher who was explaining what they would be doing this school year.
Orion slumped in his seat, his heart pounding and his tail curling around his leg. He knew that once this lesson was over, he was dead. Simon was going to kill him. He glanced over at Epel and Simon, who were both looking at a page in the book, leaning in close to one another, 'It was worth it though~!'

"Orion."
Said boy flinched, hesitantly looking over at his brother. Class was over, and as soon as the bell rang, Orion ran out of the classroom. He waited outside the room for his brother and Epel.
Simon stomped over to him, an angry smile, fists clenched and ears standing straight up on his head. He definitely looked pissed. Orion debated running away, but that would only make things worse. So he stayed put, acting like he was a statue.
"What was that?" Simon asked, his tail swishing around so hard Orion thought it was about to hit him, "Huh? Whatever do you mean~?" Orion played dumb, a nervous smile on his face.
"Why were you actin' like a child? Why'd you take my book, nya?" Simon kept clenching and unclenching his fists, meaning he was about ready to punch something. Orion gulped, starting to regret his decision now.
"Ahah~ Calm down, Sim~ It was just a little joke. I was trying to help you make a friend, ne." Orion hurriedly explained, holding his hands up in surrender.
Simon crossed his arms, his smile getting wider, "Why? Why do I need a friend?" He asked his brother. Orion sighed, relaxing his tensed posture, "Cause, you'll be lonely." He said.
Simon tilted his head, "Why would I be lonely? I have you." His brows furrowed, confused.
'Are you sure about that, nya?' A voice whispered in his ear, coming and going like the wind.
Simon flinched, whirling around to look behind him. He looked all around the hallway, but no one was looking at him, nor even close to him. So... 'Who just said that?'
"Sim? Hey~ You good?" Orion waved a hand in front of his brother face, gaining his attention, "Did you hear me? I said, I want you to have friends besides me. This is your chance, Ne! To finally break free from your shell and make a whole bunch of friends. Stuff like that, ne~!" Orion grinned, throwing an arm over Simon's shoulders.
Simon shook his head, "I have no shell, nya. I don't need a bunch of friends, either. We both know how that ended last time." He said, seeing Epel waiting up ahead. He had noticed how angry Simon had been so he figured it would be best if he didn't get too close. He guessed that even they fight sometimes despite how close they were.
Orion watched Simon walk ahead to meet up with Epel, sighing softly.
'Simon... I had hoped that coming to NRC would help him forget that whole incident.' Orion shook his head, 'No, calm down. He's at least willing to be friends with Eppy! So, just ease him into all this slowly! I just gotta find more people willing to be his friend!'
Orion nodded to himself with determination, 'I will make my brother have friends!'
