The day of reckoning came sooner than expected.
As Vineet and Abhijeet prepared to hand over their evidence to ACP Pradyuman, they received an urgent call from DCP Chitrole. He demanded to see Vineet immediately. The tension between them had reached its breaking point.
“You think you can betray me, Vineet?” Chitrole’s voice was sharp and venomous over the phone. “I know what you’ve been up to. Don’t think for a second that you can outsmart me.”
Vineet’s heart pounded in his chest. He had been careful, but it was clear that Chitrole had caught wind of their investigation. There was no time left—they had to act now.
“Meet me at the usual spot,” Chitrole continued. “If you’re not there in thirty minutes, you’ll regret it.”
Vineet hung up, turning to Abhijeet. “It’s time.”
Abhijeet nodded, his expression hardened with determination. “We’ll go together.”
When they arrived at the secluded meeting place, DCP Chitrole was already waiting, his face twisted with anger and betrayal.
“You were never meant to be in CID,” Chitrole spat as Vineet and Abhijeet approached. “I placed you there as my pawn, and this is how you repay me? By digging into my affairs?”
Vineet stood tall, no longer afraid. “I’m done being your pawn, DCP Chitrole Sir. We have evidence. The CID knows everything.”
DCP Chitrole’s eyes flickered with a dangerous glint. “You think you can take me down? You’re nothing without me, Vineet.”
But before DCP Chitrole could say more, a voice called out from the shadows. “That’s enough.”
ACP Pradyuman stepped into the clearing, flanked by Daya and Freddy. The entire CID team had been listening, ready to put an end to DCP Chitrole’s reign of corruption.
DCP Chitrole’s expression faltered, the realization dawning on him. “You… you set me up?”
Abhijeet stepped forward, his voice calm but firm. “No, DCP Chitrole Sir. You set yourself up. You thought you could control everyone, but you underestimated us.”
In that moment, DCP Chitrole knew he had lost. The evidence was irrefutable, and with ACP Pradyuman and the entire CID team standing against him, his empire of deceit crumbled.
