The next few days, an awkward tension filled the air between the past lovers.. they were so busy with work they never got the chance to talk.. if they did, someone was always there to interrupt them. Ever since they were so close to kissing each other.. they had so much still to discuss but time, and work always got in the way.
"Miss Taylor, are you attending the event on Saturday evening?"
"I'm not sure yet.." Miss Taylor smiled at the young girl as they wait in the elevator at Stark Industries.. "I haven't decided if I'm going.."
"Oh! You should, it's always a great evening, plenty to drink, good friends, what more could you want.."
"I'll think about it.."
"I'm sure Mr Stark will want you there.." the girl points out to Miss Taylor just as the doors open to her floor.. "Well.. this is my floor.. see you.."
"Sure, see you around.." Miss Taylor smiles, before the doors close again, leaving her alone as she heads up to Tony's office.. she couldn't resist thinking of spending time with Tony at the party..but she is fully aware of his reputation..
Once she reached her floor, she headed to Tony's office, she waited a moment outside the door as she fixed her hair.. she had never done that before, but now.. something had changed within in her.. she wanted Tony to notice her..
As she gave a little knock to the door, she heard a voice inside, a a voice she didn't clearly recognise.. a woman's.. she could help but wait, and listen to what was said..
"It was a shame we were interrupted the other night.."
"It sure was.."
"When are we going to pick up where we left off huh? You keep leave me hanging Mr Stark.."
"I know, I'm sorry but I don't know.." she heard Tony reply.
"How about.. we pick it up.. after the party on Saturday?"
"I don't know if I'm going yet.." Tony didn't sound interested in her, but without seeing she couldn't really tell.
"Really? Why?" The sound of her voice was pathetic, making Miss Taylor cringe as she stood listening.. "I'll be there.."
"I know, you've told me, and you've texted me.."
"So why are you ignoring me? Don't tell me it's because of that new assistant.."
"I uh.. don't think you should be.." Tony commented just as Miss Taylor decided to open the door.. announcing herself in the room, Tony quickly parted away from the girl.. clearing his throat... "Miss Taylor, are we ready go?"
"Yes.. meeting will start shortly Mr Stark.."
"Great, thanks.." he smiled at her before turning his attention to the girl again.. "I think you have work to do.. so if you don't mind.. you need leave.." Tony gestured to the door, and she let out a loud scoff as she walked past Miss Taylor, disgust wrote across her face.. "Sorry about that.."
"It's okay, Miss Potts told me I'd have to defend you from crazy chicks like her.."
"She did?" Tony raised his brow.. "Well trust me, there are a lot worse out there.."
"Oh I can imagine.."
"I'm sorry, they hang around me like flies.."
